A hand held refrigeration fluid leak detector for observing and detecting optical fluorescence resulting from optical excitation of the leaking refrigeration fluid provides single hand operation for a user while holding the main body of the detector with either one of two hands. The flexible stalk is coupled to the main body and to a head containing an LED light source which provides spectral emissions in the UV to blue range. In one embodiment, the hand held detector includes a gas detector.

The movement of an expander by actuation of a manual hydraulic pump in a hydraulically powered flaring hand tool contacts die elements so as to move the die elements radially outward to flare hollow malleable cylindrical tubing. The tool has a manual hydraulic pump for producing movement of a shaft, an adjuster member coupled to the manual hydraulic pump, permitting the shaft to slide through the adjuster member, an expander coupled to the shaft end, and a die set having a plurality of die elements, the die set is coupled to the adjuster member.

Hydraulically powered flaring hand tool

A hand-held portable crimping tool for crimping fittings to hose assemblies, is manually operable, has removable snap-in dies, and yoke that is hydraulically powered. Operation of the tool causes the snap-in dies to crimp the fitting, wherein a linear force is transformed into a non-linear force applied by the snap-in dies to the fitting.

A tool for a pressurized refrigeration system having a valve with a removable valve core comprises: a valve assembly having a first opening and a second opening and a shut-off valve, the shut-off valve adapted to close and open a passageway between the first opening and the second opening; a valve adapter coupled to the first opening, wherein the valve adapter is adapted to couple to the valve; and, a shaft assembly coupled to the second opening, the shaft assembly having a shaft adapted to move through the passageway, when the shut-off valve is open, and engage the removable valve core. The removable valve core can be removed, while under pressure, from the valve, by rotating the shaft to extract the removable valve core in a controlled manner.
