An integrated computing system configuration system includes a computing system that executes an engine to receive component specifications for each of one or more components supplied by a plurality of suppliers, and receive user input for selecting a subset of the components to be implemented in a customized integrated computing system by generating a base integrated computing system configuration that comprises the component specifications of the subset of the components. The engine may then apply one or more rules to at least one of the component specifications to verify the subset of components, the rule specifying an architectural standard level to be provided by the at least one component, and display the results of the verification on a display.

Methods, systems, and computer readable mediums for logically remediating infrastructure resource components are disclosed. According to one example, the method includes capturing metadata specifying both a data protection policy applied to an enterprise application supported by a host computing system and a location of backup file data associated with the enterprise application and transferring the enterprise application and the metadata from the host computing system to a target computing system. The method further includes utilizing the metadata to reconstruct the data protection policy for the transferred enterprise application on the target computing system, wherein the metadata specifies a data protection solution for each of a plurality of resource components supporting the transferred enterprise application on the target computing system.

A method for data protection tiering is provided. The method includes sending information about a plurality of data protection tiering options that are applicable to one or more applications, which are implementable via a plurality of data protection products. The method includes receiving data protection tiering selection information identifying at least one from among the plurality of data protection tiering options and implementing each of the of data protection tiering options consistent with the selection. The method includes collecting all file system directories of at least one system for which a deduplication backup storage capacity for files in the all file system directories is to be determined. The method includes determining file counts, file sizes and file types of the files in the all file system directories and obtaining a deduplication ratio of each of the file types. The method includes deriving the deduplication backup storage capacity from the file counts, the file sizes and the file types of the files in the all file system directories, based on the deduplication ratio of each of the file types.

An integrated computing system configuration system includes a computing system that executes an engine select a plurality of component specifications associated with corresponding components to be implemented in a customized integrated computing system, and for each selected component, abstract the component specification according to its functionality to create a component classification, and validate the component classification according to its interoperability with other component specifications to create a validated component. The engine may then apply one or more rules to at least one of the validated components to verify that the customized integrated computing system meets one or more architectural standards, and when at least one of the rules are not met, perform one or more remedial operations such that the at least one rule is met.

A method for data tiering is provided. The method includes sending a plurality of data protection tiering options that are applicable to one or more applications or servers and that represent a plurality of data protection policies which are implementable via a plurality of data protection products. The method includes receiving a selection of at least one from among the plurality of data protection tiering options and coordinating with the plurality of data protection products to implement at least one of the plurality of data protection policies consistent with the selection.
