A weight sensitive squirrel proof bird feeder with multiple perch rods. In general, a feed reservoir includes perch rods positioned generally perpendicular to an outer surface of the feed reservoir. When a predetermined weight is placed upon the perches, the perches rotate about their longitudinal axis by a motor thereby expelling the source of the weight, typically squirrels or other undesirable animals from the perches.

The present invention includes spring loaded elongated cylindrical perches incorporated into bird feeders, wherein the perches have typically a round perch member which, when loaded by an undesirable bird or other pest, will sense the weight of the pest and the weight will overcome the spring loaded perch and the perch will collapse at a fulcrum point thereby dislodging the bird or pest. The spring is designed to have the capability of elongating upon the application of a predetermined force being applied to the spring by means of the weight of the pest on the perch, and then the spring will elongate causing the perch to bend vertically downward with respect to the ground dislodging the pest, and when the longitudinal force on the spring is relaxed, the spring then resumes its relaxed length and draws the perch back into battery with respect to the spring housing assembly.

Collapsible perches for bird feeders and birdhouses

A cylindrical rodent repelling bird feeder 11 having an annular perch 13 around the feeder and an electric motor 33 geared to the perch. The perch is coupled to the electric motor and the electric motor is reciprocatively mounted in the bird feeder so that when a rodent 47 of excessive weight alights upon the perch the motor is pulled against a resistance spring 41 and a switch 38 is caused to close, thereby engaging the motor which rotates the perch to dislodge the rodent therefrom.

A non-hydraulic bicycle braking system (2) is composed of a braking arrangement wherein a hand actuator is squeezed at a handle bar to effect movement of a pair of brake pads (94) against the rim (8) of a wheel (6). An actuator cable (116) is operably connected to the hand actuator and mounted to a yoke (134). The yoke is connected to a brake cable which is attached to separate arms (38) that are pivotally mounted at a pivot end (46) to brake mounting brackets (14). Each mounting bracket is separately mounted to spaced apart wheel posts (4). Each arm is pivotally mounted to a piston (68) which, in turn, has the brake pad. Although the arms move through an arc when actuated, all circular arc movements of the arm are taken up in the piston; thereby, leaving the piston to move in a straight manner without deviating in a circular movement.

Bicycle braking system

A pedal crank has a throw adjuster comprised of two triangular frames in opposed relationship to a common triangular base that is variable in length. A pedal crank is formed with a peak of a proximal triangular frame attached to a crank axle and a peak of a distal triangular frame attached to a pedal axle. A fixed side of the proximal triangular frame is attached rigidly to the crank axle and a floating side of the proximal triangular frame is attached rotationally to the crank axle. A fixed side of the distal triangular frame is attached rigidly to the pedal axle and a floating side of the distal triangular frame is attached rotationally to the pedal axle. The fixed side of the proximal triangular frame and the fixed side of the distal triangular frame are attached to opposite ends of the common triangular base. Both sides of both triangles are attached pivotally to the common triangular base that is variable in length with a screw shaft, a fluid-operated cylinder, or other length-adjustment means. In an exerciser embodiment, the crank axle is in chain drive relationship to an electrical, fluid or frictional resistor of rotation that is variable in rotational resistance. A calibrator of throw length is positioned parallel to the common base.
