A switch contact arrangement for a power switch is provided with a device for increasing the contact force acting between switch contacts. The device includes a cavity which is made in a stationary conductive element of the switch contact arrangement in such a manner that the direction of the current in the conductive element adjacent to the stationary switch contact runs essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the conductive element and therefore essentially parallel to the direction of current in an associated displaceable conductive element. The above-mentioned arrangement is suitable for low-voltage power switches with a selective form, whereby the switch contacts thereof allow a short-circuit current to be guided without premature opening.

Switch contact arrangement comprising a device for increasing a contact-force acting between switch contacts

A switching arrangement for low-voltage circuit breakers with a high nominal current includes movable switching contacts arranged essentially on a moveable contact carrier. It further includes fixed switching contacts and a device for cooling, de-ionizing and extinguishing an electric switching arc. The fixed contact is provided with a pre-contact function over the entire contact width thereof. Moveable contact levers are arranged according to a set pattern in a distributed manner over the entire width of the contact carriers and are provided with or without a pre-contact. A contact lever with a pre-contact and a contact lever without a pre-contact can be provided successively. Similarly, two or more contact levers with a pre-contact and two or more contact levers without a pre-contact can be successively and alternatingly provided in packet-form.

Switching arrangement for low-voltage circuit breakers

A switching gas damper for low-voltage power circuit breakers, is arranged as an attachment above the arcing chambers for additional damping, deionization and cooling of the switching gases. The switching gas damper includes a cuboid enclosure with separate inlet openings to receive switching gas flows from each arcing chamber in the low-voltage power circuit breaker. Separate outlet channels are formed by channel walls and/or by deflection elements and are routed on both sides of the power circuit breaker. A variable arrangement of the deflection elements and outlet channels makes it possible to produce a number of mutually separate flow paths, with different desired damping and cooling characteristics, as a function of the gas amounts that occur and of the characteristics of the arcing chambers that are used.

Switching gas damper for low-voltage power circuit breakers

A connector for conductor bars, which are in-line or extend at a right angle with regard to one another and which rotate 90&#xb0; around their longitudinal axes. The connector is comprised of a first contact piece and of a second contact piece of which the first contact piece is fastened in an eccentric manner, with regard to the longitudinal axis thereof, to the second contact piece at a position on the second contact piece that is also positioned in an eccentric manner with regard to the longitudinal axis. The first contact piece is connected to the second contact piece in such a manner that their longitudinal axes extend at a right angle with regard to one another but at a distance from one another so that the contact surfaces of the contact pieces do not intersect or overlap one another, but are adjacently arranged such that the pivot by 90&#xb0; towards one another.

An electric arc extinction chamber system, especially for low-voltage circuit breakers of very high nominal current intensities, wherein parallel electric arc extinction chamber inserts are provided in a housing extending over the entire width of a pole-face arc. The housing of the chamber is sub-divided by a partition wall or several partition walls which are embodied as components of the housing. The compartments thus formed receive arc splitter cartridges.

A switching chamber enclosure includes a number of enclosure parts with specific functional subdivision, in which switching elements are arranged. The enclosure of the switching device is formed at least by one lower shell and one upper shell, which are separated from one another by a horizontal separating joint. In addition, one or more intermediate shells may provided, which are likewise separated from the lower shell, from the upper shell and from one another by horizontal separating joints.

Electrical switchgear comprising several housing parts

Connecting bars for electrical appliances and devices, for different nominal currents, are configured in such a way that they are hollow. They may have only one or more than one cavity. The connecting bars have the same outer cross section for all current intensities, have different wall thicknesses, and consequently have differently sized cavities, for different current intensities. Consequently, the lead-through openings for the connecting bars in the respective switch housings of a type series can all be configured identically, corresponding to the dimensions for the connecting bars of the maximum current intensity.

A switching contact includes a rocker-type leaf spring as a contact force spring in order to produce the contact force required for a contact lever A drag bearing thereof is disposed between the point of rotation of the contact lever on a contact carrier and a contact-making end piece of the contact lever. Preferably, the drag bearing is formed by a bend of the contact force spring and a sliding surface disposed on the contact carrier. The drag bearing of the contact force spring can be displaced without a fixed link along the sliding surface according to the tension of the contact force spring. If the switching contract arrangement has several contact levers (multiple contact arrangement) all of the associated contact force springs can be combined to form a one-piece leaf spring.

An arc extinguisher for low voltage switchgear, switching in air, includes a universally applicable variable attachment for adjustment of the arc extinguisher chamber to meet increased demands. The attachment is in the form of a chimney-like arc extinguisher chamber extension, for increasing the volume of the arc extinguisher chamber. It represents a moulded piece with a lower outline which exactly matches the outline of the arc extinguisher chamber cover, normally located on the arc extinguisher chamber and with an upper outline, identical to the upper outline of the switchgear housing for mounting the arc extinguisher chamber cover. Any number of attachments may be used in a stacked manner.

A drive train is for a displaceable contact on a breaker contact arrangement in an electrical power breaker. A coupling element displaceable against a stop and arranged between the moveable contact and corresponding drive element is provided with an anti-bounce device, including a catch element and a counter piece. The catch element which may be swung into a catch position as a result of the inertia exerted on the centre of gravity thereof, when the coupling element strikes the stop, includes a working surface extending in the pivoting direction to forma momentary working connection with the counter piece. A retaining spring is additionally provided on the catch element to guarantee that a rebounding of the coupling element into the position corresponding to the close state of the breaker contact arrangement does not occur.

Drive train for a displaceable contact on an electrical power breaker

A low-voltage circuit breaker includes an enclosure. The enclosure includes a front wall and a rear wall, and further includes specific functional subdivisions. The front wall and the rear wall are separated from one another by a separating joint, which runs vertically in the in-use position, between the enclosure front wall and the enclosure rear wall. An integrated cable duct is provided in the base of the enclose rear wall. The cable duct can be covered and extends underneath the contact support bearings and underneath the current transformer chambers which surround the lower connecting rails essentially over the entire width of the low-voltage circuit breaker. In the direction of the enclosure front wall, it has one or more through-opening for the connecting cables to pass through between the current transformers and the electronic tipping unit.

A low-voltage power circuit breaker includes a current-limiting opening of a mobile switching contact. The force-transmitting connection between the actuating shaft lever and the mobile switching contact or the contact support is provided in the form of a latching device and includes two identical levers, which can pivot in relation to one another around an articulated joint and which are joined to one another by way of the articulated joint that is formed by a joint pin guided through aligned continuous borings provided in concentric parts of the levers. The contact surfaces of the levers have slanted surfaces that serve as a tooth. In the vicinity of the articulated joint, the levers are subjected to the action of an adjustable spring force, which is exerted by a pressure spring and which acts upon the tooth.

Current limiting low-voltage power circuit breaker

A switchgear, for low-voltage switching units with a linearly-displaceable contact support, includes a case-like housing with guide grooves, running in the direction of travel of the contact support, in the housing side walls thereof. Suitable projections on the side of the contact support, engage in the grooves, whereby the linear travel of the contact support is achieved. Pivoting contacts are arranged on the contact support as displaceable switch contacts.

Switchgear for low-voltage switching units with a linearly displaceable contact support

A connector rail includes a full profile which is provided with first bearing surfaces and second bearing surfaces which are used to provide support in the window opening of the rear wall of the housing. The second bearing surfaces are provided with projections for securing continuous current conductors which are aligned in a parallel manner and which are, for instance in the case of low voltage circuit breakers, embodied as male contacts for fixed contacts. Respectively corresponding projections are provided in order to secure the flexible cables to the moveable switching contacts or to secure the fixed switching contacts.

An arc quenching device for an air-switching low-voltage switching device includes quenching plates, which are arranged between and attached to parallel insulating walls, as well as a cover. A separate cooling device may be introduced into the space between the quenching plates and the cover. The cooling device is in the form of an insert cartridge and contains deionization technology for switching gases. Attachment pins on the cooling device and corresponding holding openings on the inside of the cover make it possible to fit the cooling device to the cover before this cover engages with the insulating walls.
