A method, system, and apparatus are provided for capturing a video image and speed of a target vehicle. A ranging device detects a distance to a target vehicle. The focal distance or zoom of a video camera is set and adjusted based on the distance. The speed of travel of the vehicle is detected, displayed, and/or stored in association with a video image captured of the vehicle by the video camera. A range of distances within which to capture the video image and speed of the vehicle may be set by detecting distances between a pair of landmarks or using GPS and compass heading data. An inclinometer is provided to aid initiation of a power-conservation mode. A target tracking time may be determined and compared to a minimum tracking time period. A device certification period can be stored and displayed and the device deactivated upon expiration thereof.

A traffic radar system (TRS) utilizing an automated test process which aids the operator in quickly conducting comprehensive system tuning fork tests that includes front and rear antennas and stationary, moving opposite, and moving same-lane operations. The automated process has the ability to select the proper radar antenna and proper mode of operation for each step of the test. The process will measure the input fork signals and report if the signals are within the specified tolerance. Optionally, the process can be set to not allow the radar system to enter the normal operating mode if the tuning fork tests have not been successfully completed.

A traffic radar system utilizes a standard USB interface of power and communication to a host USB device. Modules of the radar system communicate over a wireless network to reduce hard-wire cabling in the patrol vehicle or radar platform. Digital signal processing (DSP) is utilized in a distributed processing architecture to increase processing functionality and target detection capabilities. The system modules incorporate electrical and mechanical interfaces which allow modules to be connected together to form unique radar systems.

A device for adjusting a gun sight disposed in a dovetail groove on a gun slide is presented. The device includes a pushing member and a pressure plate both moveable in a first direction and an opposing second direction. The device further comprises a bracing member opposing the pressure plate, where the bracing member is stationary, and a seating member disposed between the pressure plate and bracing member, where the seating member opposes the pushing member, and where the seating member is movable in a third direction and an opposing fourth direction. When the gun slide is secured between the bracing member and the pressure plate, moving the pushing member adjusts the position of the gun sight.

A device for adjusting a gun sight disposed in a dovetail groove on a gun slide is presented. The device includes a pushing member having a protrusion and an opening formed for receiving the gun sight therethrough, where the pushing member is movable in a first direction. The device further includes a pressure plate moveable in the first direction and a tail assembly opposing the pressure plate and movable in a second direction, where the tail assembly and the pressure plate are for securing the gun slide therebetween. When the gun slide is secured between the tail assembly and the pressure plate, moving the pushing member moves the gun sight.
