A transducer for measuring normal force of a compliant pin includes a fixture having a base. A supporting beam extends from the base. A sensing beam is positioned proximate to the sensing beam and supported at at least one end thereof. The fixture has a slot positioned between the supporting beam and the sensing beam and configured to receive the compliant pin. A strain gauge array is provided on the sensing beam for sensing strain of the sensing beam. The strain of the sensing beam corresponds to normal force imparted on the sensing beam by the compliant pin. The sensing beam is configured to be deformed when the compliant pin is loaded into the slot and the deformation corresponds to strain of the sensing beam configured to be sensed by the strain gauge array.

Transducer for and method of measuring normal force of a compliant pin

An LCD counter assembly including a housing that houses an LCD display at a first end and a printed circuit board (PCB) assembly at a second end opposite the first end. A diffuser is intermediate the PCB assembly and the LCD display, the LCD display and the PCB assembly in electrical contact with a connector that provides electrical signals from the PCB assembly to the LCD. The first end of the housing includes an aperture through which the LCD display is readily visible to an observer. The PCB assembly may include a backlight to improve the visibility of the LCD display. The PCB assembly further includes a PCB having a printed circuit and a plurality of pads, a single piece, double beam, activation and trigger switch combination assembled to the board, the board configured to receive the double beam activation and trigger switch combination and a removable tab to separate the activation switch in the double beam combination from one of the plurality of pads.

A connector apparatus is provided as having an insulated housing and a terminal that is secured inside the insulated housing with locking lances. The locking lances have scalloped edges to ensure that the lances only partially penetrate the housing, but also provide a secure connection to provide an increased retention of the terminal in the housing. Once the terminal is secured within the housing, the terminal is permanently disposed within the housing and cannot easily be removed.

A stacked RJ21 receptacle () for mating with a mating connector includes a first RJ21 receptacle () and a second receptacle (). An outer shield () shields the first and second receptacle. The first and second RJ21 receptacle each has a projecting portion projecting beyond the outer shield. The stacked RJ21 receptacle () further includes at least a printed circuit board () and a noise suppressing element () respectively electrically connecting with the first and second receptacles.

An electrical adapter () includes a first housing member (), a second housing member () coupled with the first housing member to define an internal space therebetween, and a subassembly () received in the space. The first housing member has a first mating face () defining a first upper and lower cavities (). The second housing member has a second mating face () defining a second cavity (). The subassembly includes a first, second and third circuit boards (), a surge suppressing device (), a number of first, second and third conductive terminals () respectively mounted on the first, second and third circuit boards, and a number of contact vias () electrically connecting with corresponding first, second and third terminals. The first, second and third terminals respectively have contacting portions () extending into corresponding cavities. The surge suppressing device is mounted on the first circuit boards and electrically connects with corresponding first, second and third terminals for transient voltage protection via the contact vias.

An electrical connector () includes an RJ 45 block (), an RJ11 component (), a stacked USB component () and an internal modem () having a plurality of pinholes () and electrical components and circuitry. The RJ45 block () includes a header () defining a plurality of slots (). A plurality of right-angle pins () are received in corresponding slots and inserted into corresponding pinholes of the modem. The RJ11 component includes a plurality of contacts being directly soldered to the modem. The stacked USB component abuts against the modem.

An electrical adapter () includes a first housing member (), a second housing member () coupled with the first housing member, and a number of first, second and third conductive terminals (). The first housing member has a first mating face () defining a first upper and lower receptacles (). The second housing member has a second mating face () defining a second receptacle (). The first, second and third conductive terminals () respectively have contacting portions () extending into corresponding receptacles. Latching means are arranged between the first and second housing members so as to fasten the first housing member and the second housing together.

An electrical connector () includes a first housing member (), a second housing member () coupled with the first housing member to define an internal space therebetween, and a subassembly () received in the space. The first housing member has a first mating face () defining a first upper and lower cavities (). The second housing member has a second mating face () defining a second upper and lower cavities (). The subassembly includes a pair of terminal modules () and a pair of surge suppressing devices (). The upper and lower terminal modules respectively include a PCB () and a number of front and rear conductive terminals () mounted on the PCB. The front and rear terminals are exposed in a corresponding first and second cavities. The surge suppressing devices are mounted respective one of the PCBs and electrically connect with corresponding front and rear terminals.

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () and an electrical subassembly disposed with in the insulative housing. The electrical subassembly includes a first and a second printed circuit boards () each having a plurality of terminals (), a third printed circuit board () disposed above and spaced a distance from the first and second printed circuit board, a first and second magnetic modules () electrically connected with the first, second and third printed circuit boards, and a pair of over current protectors () electrically attached to the first and second magnetic modules.

A zero insertion force socket includes a cover which is movable along a longitudinal axis relative to a base housing. An actuation member is mounted for rotation about a rotation axis that is parallel to the longitudinal axis. The actuation member is operably connected for moving the cover along the longitudinal axis when the actuation member is rotated about the rotation axis. The actuation member may include a leg that extends along the rotation axis, and a handle that extends perpendicular to the leg. The leg includes at least one thread that is received in a recess in the cover.

Lever actuated ZIF processor socket

A connector assembly is provided comprising a conductive upper shell having a top, sides, a front face and a back wall. A conductive lower shell is provided having sides, a bottom, a front face and a rear wall. The sides of the lower shell include recesses formed in edges thereof. Flanges are provided on the sides of the upper shell. The flanges have tabs extending downward therefrom. The tabs are received in the recesses in the edges of the sides of the lower shell when the upper and lower shells are joined. The recesses hold the flanges against the sides of the upper shell. A connector assembly is provided comprising an upper shell having a top, sides, a front face and a back wall. A lower shell has sides, a bottom, a front face and a back wall, wherein the front face of one of the upper and lower shells includes a pin and the front face of another of the upper and lower shells includes a cross member. The pin is held by the cross member to retain the front faces of the upper and lower shells joined with one another. The shells enclose a printed circuit board with an exposed end for connection to a mating connector.

Electrical connector assembly with interlocking upper and lower shells

A zero insertion force socket is provided having a cover and housing sidably mounted to one another. The housing includes a pocket receiving a cam assembly. The cam assembly is slidably moveable within the housing in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement between the cover and housing. The lever is rotatably mounted within the housing and engages the cam assembly to transfer rotational movement of the lever into axial movement of the cam assembly in a transverse direction. The cam assembly communicates with the cover such that the cam assembly drives the cover in a longitudinal direction as the cam assembly moves in a transverse direction. The lever and cam assembly cooperate to spread actuation forces across the cover and housing.

An electrical connector is provided having a conductive receptacle assembly with walls including grounding contacts, and a conductive plug member for connection to the receptacle assembly. The plug member includes peripheral surfaces that electrically engage grounding contacts on the receptacle assembly. A latch assembly is mounted to the plug member and includes a spring biasing face place that lockably engages one wall of the receptacle assembly. The latch assembly is conductive to afford a grounding correction between the plug member and receptacle assembly along one peripheral wall therebetween. The plug is formed with upper and lower shells, each of which is formed as a unitary structure, such as during a diecast molding procedure. The upper and lower shells are conductive and formed with substantially no openings therein to define a chamber therebetween offering significant EMI shielding characteristics. A PC equalization board is enclosed within the upper and lower shells. The PC equalization board is maintained in a fixed position and orientation by directly contacting shelves and keying protrusions formed integrally on the interior surfaces of the sides of one of the upper and lower shells.

A TPA (terminal position assurance) member and connector combination in which the connector is specially configured to latch the TPA member at forward and rearward ends of the connector, the TPA member further being provided with mating locking structure so as to securely lock it at both ends to the connector. In a preferred form, one end of the TPA latching structure is provided with both pre-attachment and full locking structure which provides for a two-stage locking sequence giving both visual and tactile indications to the assembler as to the condition of the TPA.
