A valve cap assembly for being attached to an air valve and removably covering an end of the air valve includes a hoop, a cap, and an arched tether connecting the hoop and the cap. The hoop attaches the valve cap assembly to the air valve. The cap removably covers the end of the air valve to protect the end of the air valve. Both the hoop and the cap form a dependable interference fit between the hoop or cap and the valve stem to retain the hoop on the valve stem and to retain the cap covering the end of the air valve on the air valve. The cap includes one or more longitudinal protrusions that form the interference fit.

A mounting bracket for attaching a component housing to a mounting rail includes a mounting clip and a base. The mounting clip carries the component housing and the base attaches the mounting clip to the mounting rail. The mounting clip is rotatably attached to the base to enable positioning the component housing in different angular positions with respect to the mounting rail.

An assembly for attaching and detaching an electronics module from a base includes a feedback assembly that provides an operator with tactile feedback on the relative positioning of the module with the base during attachment or detachment of the module to or from the base. The feedback assembly includes cams on the electronics module and a follower attached to an end of a spring arm on the base. The spring arm forms a portion of a wall that guides movement of the module along the base during attachment or detachment of the module.

A universal I/O interposer system for processing an I/O signal transmitted between an I/O field device and a controller, the system includes a base connected between the field device and the controller and a number of connector halves attached to the base. An interposer circuit carrier includes a corresponding connector half and includes a signal processing circuit for processing an I/O signal being transmitted between an I/O field device and a controller. An interposer circuit carrier can be changed without disconnecting the base from the field device or controller.

A redundant power supply motherboard assembly connects control segments of a fieldbus-type control system to a host computer. The assembly has a compact design with pairs of power supply modules in side-by-side nests on the motherboard. The nests are mounted on the motherboard in desired locations and securely hold the modules on the assembly despite vibrations, shocks and handling to prevent contact impairment. The nests provide touch protection for components on the motherboard.

The nests securely hold the modules to prevent contact impairment due to vibrations, shocks and handling.

A method for removing an electronic module from a base where the module includes a latch extractor assembly and a stiff shift member with latch arms outside the module body and follower arms inside the module body. An extractor engages the follower arms to move the shift member laterally and move the latch arms out of engagement with the base to free the module for removal from the base.

An electrical terminal or spring terminal for forming an electrical connection between a wire conductor and a current bar includes a spring and a spring retainer, the spring retainer not integral with the spring and not integral with the current bar. Engageable abutment surfaces on the spring retainer and the current bar cooperate to transfer spring force to the current bar.

A terminal block for mounting on a DIN rail includes a plurality of stacked modules with each module having a contact body and an extender body mounted on the contact body. A circuit board or electronic component is mounted on the contact body and the extender body. Different size extender bodies may be mounted on a common contact body to accommodate mounting different size circuit boards or components on the block.

Electrical module

A method for mounting a latch to a base, the base having an interior cavity for an electronic component, the latch configured to receive a support member for mounting the base to the support member, includes the steps of attaching a release member to the base and holding the release member in a stationary position, placing a latch against the base and forming a connection between the release member and the latch, and moving the release member and latch to a second position where the latch and release member are freely movable between latched and unlatched positions.

A modular DIN rail mounted base includes a two-part body made of plastic shells and a unitary circuit board assembly having two vertically spaced circuit boards. The edges of the circuit boards fit into interior grooves formed the interior surfaces of the shells to locate the assembly vertically in the shell. An alignment rib provided in a groove in a shell extends into a recess formed in a circuit board edge in the groove to locate the assembly longitudinally along the groove in the body.

A base for mounting on a DIN rail includes a body and a latch assembly on the bottom of the body. The latch assembly has an elongate actuator extending to one side of the base and a latch member attached to the actuator for engaging the DIN rail. The release member is held on the base in an assembly position to facilitate mounting of the attachment member on the release member and the base, and is then shifted to an operative position.

An electronic module for mounting on a base includes a module body and a latch extractor assembly having a metal latch member with a spring arm, a shift member and a latch, and an extractor engageable with the shift member for movement of the latch out of engagement with the base.
