A method for controlling oxygen mix for a single-limb non-invasive ventilator comprising a pressure controller, and both a blower and a pressurized oxygen source downstream of the blower, each comprising a controller and a flow valve controlling flow, comprising: (i) generating a flow trajectory; (ii) providing the generated flow trajectory to a pair of complimentary flow coupling filters comprising a blower flow coupling filter and an oxygen flow coupling filter; (iii) generating an output from each of the filters, comprising an input flow trajectory for the blower flow controller and an input flow trajectory for the oxygen flow controller; and (iv) adjusting, by the blower flow controller and/or oxygen flow controller based on the input flow trajectory, target pressure, and oxygen mix, the blower speed controller and/or the pressurized oxygen source proportional flow valve.

Methods and systems for controlling gas flow using a proportional flow valve

A system and method for automatically performing gas optimization after a refill in the chambers of a two chamber gas discharge laser is disclosed. The laser is fired at low power, and the gas in the amplifier laser chamber bled if necessary until the discharge voltage meets or exceeds a minimum value without dropping the pressure below a minimum value. The power output is increased to a burst pattern that approximates the expected operation of the laser, and the amplifier chamber gas bled again if necessary until the voltage and an output energy meet or exceed minimum values, or until the pressure is less than a minimum value. The gas in the master oscillator chamber is then bled if necessary until the output energy of the master oscillator meets or falls below a maximum value, again without dropping the pressure in the chamber below the minimum value. While the pressure is adjusted, bandwidth is also measured and adjusted to stay within a desired range. Once the target values are provided, the process runs quickly without manual interaction.

System and method for automatic gas optimization in a two-chamber gas discharge laser system

A control system for a high frequency oscillating ventilator (HFOV) includes an oscillator controller and a mean airway pressure (MAP) controller. The HFOV includes a reciprocating piston which is adapted to generate positive and negative pressure waves for delivery to a patient airway. The oscillator controller comprises a pair of closed loop control circuits including an oscillator pressure loop and a centering loop which are collectively adapted to regulate frequency and amplitude of piston reciprocations and centering of the piston. The MAP controller comprises a closed loop control circuit that is adapted for regulating MAP at the patient utilizing feedback in the form of patient circuit pressure. Likewise, the oscillator controller utilizes patient circuit pressure as well as piston displacement feedback in order to regulate movement of the piston.

Closed loop control system for a high frequency oscillation ventilator

A control system for a high frequency oscillating ventilator (HFOV) includes and oscillator controller and a mean airway pressure (MAP) controller. The adaptive control method for controlling pressure based ventilation utilizes a specific regulator structure designed according to a linear model of the patient/ventilator system. The same model is also used to derive a real time estimate of patient airway resistance, lung compliance, and the connecting tube compliance. These estimates are used to adjust regulator parameters in real time such that closed loop dynamics quickly approach those of a specified system. In the patient/connecting circuit system, G(s) inlet flow and circuit pressure are fed to a parameter estimator, and the output of the parameter estimator is used to adjust the parameters of the compensator, C(s).
