A powerful direct digital control (DDC) and integration control platform that is scalable and easy to use and meet building owners and contractors' desires for a highly secure and robust technical solution. One may combine heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) DDC control with the embedded workstation platform, and DDC controllers with embedded workstation platform software design. An embedded workstation platform event-driven approach (such as a Windows operating system (OS) or Unix OS environment) is not necessarily easily suited to real-time common in HVAC DDC control. The present system may solve an issue of combining high-power event needs for HVAC DDC Controls.

Control system

A building controller is configured to control one or more building system components of a building control system. In one example, the building controller includes a housing and one or more wiring terminals that are accessible from outside of the housing. A controller is housed by the housing and is operatively coupled to the one or more wiring terminals. The controller is configured to output one or more control commands on one or more of the wiring terminals. A managed network switch is housed by the housing and includes a plurality of network switch ports that are each accessible from outside of the housing and are each configured to be releasably secured to one or more network cables. The building controller is configured to receive user input for configuring one or more managed characteristics of the managed network switch.

A building controller includes a plurality of inputs, a plurality of outputs and a plurality of manually-actuated HAND-OFF-AUTO (HOA) switches each having a HAND (H) position, an OFF (O) positon and an AUTO (A) position, wherein each of the plurality of HOA switches is associated with but not directly coupled to a corresponding output of the plurality of outputs. Monitoring for signal pulses on one or more analog inputs of a building controller

An HVAC controller provides control values to or more output ports of the HVAC controller. Operation of the HVAC controller is monitored for one or more irregularities. When one or more irregularities in the operation are identified, a hold mode is entered. The hold mode includes holding the one or more current control values on the one or more output ports of the HVAC controller until the one or more irregularities in the operation of the HVAC controller are corrected or a predetermined hold time expires, whichever occurs first. When the one or more irregularities in the operation of the HVAC controller are not corrected before the predetermined hold time expires, a back off mode is entered. The back off mode includes setting each of one or more control values on one or more output ports of the HVAC controller to a corresponding configurable back off value.

A building controller includes a housing, a plurality of inputs, a plurality of outputs and a programmable reset button. A memory stores programmable instructions pertaining to the programmable reset button. A controller is operably coupled to the memory, the plurality of inputs, the plurality of outputs, and the programmable reset button. The controller is configured to receive signals from the plurality of inputs and to provide control signals to the plurality of outputs that are based at least in part on the received signals from the plurality of inputs. The controller is further configured to implement one or more actions that are based upon the programmed instructions pertaining to the programmable reset button that are stored in the memory when the programmable reset button is activated by a user.

Controller with programmable reset switch

An integrated unitary internet protocol (IP) control system with a rapid spanning tree protocol (RSTP), multi-port high speed switch, supervisor, web display and/or an expansion plant input/output (IO) capabilities. The system may have communication modules associated with encrypted file subsystems integrated with an IO network. An interoperable controller operation system having a command module or processor, and input and output interfaces. The command module may have an application that is fixed, configurable or programmable. The module may be changeable on the fly. The input and/or output interfaces may be changeable on the fly. The module or processor may have a memory or be connected to one. The processor and/or memory may contain a function block engine.

Interoperable network programmable controller generation system

A changeable BACnet interface system having a workstation and a controller. The system may allow a controller object interface to be engineered and downloaded to the controller via configuration files, rather than as individual objects created at run time. A BACnet network may be connected to the workstation and controller. BACnet objects may be designed to constitute an interface to the control application, and be stored in the controller. The BACnet interface may be presented to the BACnet network.
