A rocker recliner is disclosed that has a pair of stationary arms; a seat disposed between the arms; an ottoman; a back coupled to the seat. A full-recline linkage mechanism couples the ottoman, the seat and the back and is operable to move the ottoman, the seat and the back between a closed position, a TV position and a fully reclined position. A rocker assembly is coupled between the full-recline linkage mechanism and the stationary arms that allows the seat, back and ottoman to rock between the stationary arms in at least one of the closed position, the TV position or the fully reclined position.

A rocker recliner is disclosed that has a pair of stationary arms; a seat disposed between the arms; an ottoman; a back coupled to the seat. A full-recline linkage mechanism couples the ottoman, the seat and the back and is operable to move the ottoman, the seat and the back between a closed position, a TV position and a fully reclined position. A rocker assembly is coupled between the full-recline linkage mechanism and the stationary arms that allows the seat, back and ottoman to rock between the stationary arms in any of the closed position, the TV position or the fully reclined position.

A simplified, compact, recliner mechanism which can be adapted to essentially any type of seating unit is disclosed. The seat-drop and the over-center linkages, as well as the seat-drop movement, may be eliminated utilizing a simplified recliner linkage and a linear actuator to control movement of the recliner mechanism.

Pivot-over-arm reclining mechanism for a seating unit and modular seating unit connection system

A seating unit is provided that is moveable between closed, extended and fully reclined positions. The seating unit comprises two sides spaced from one another and a seat extending between the two sides, an extendable ottoman and a chair back extending upwardly from a rearward edge of the seat. The seating unit further comprises a side plate adjacent each of the two sides and at least one support tube extending between the side plates. The seating unit has a linkage mechanism supported on the side plates and coupling at least the ottoman and the chair back. A motor is coupled to the linkage mechanism to move the seating unit between the closed, extended and fully reclined positions, wherein the motor extends above the at least one support tube.

High-leg hidden ottoman recliner seating mechanism

A metal-to-the-floor linkage mechanism provides backrest recline and ottoman extension for a seating unit. The linkage mechanism has a base and a pair of seat mounting plates that are used to attach a seat to the mechanism. The linkage mechanism comprises a first and a second plurality of links that are each pivotally coupled between the base and a corresponding one of the pair of seat mounting plates. The first and second plurality of links moveably interconnect the base and the seat mounting plates to control movement of the seating unit between closed, TV, reclined and fully-reclined positions. In the fully-reclined position, the seat mounting plates are moved to a position by the first plurality of links and the second plurality of links to place the seat of the seating unit at an angle relative to horizontal of between eighteen and twenty-six degrees.

Zero-wall clearance linkage mechanism with power seat drive

A motorized positioning apparatus for a seating unit includes a motor assembly that is configured to move a linkage assembly though a series of positions that arrange the seating unit in a closed position, open position, or extended position. The motor assembly attaches directly to a footrest drive link by way of a mounting tube. In addition, the motor assembly may attach either to a base rail of the seating unit or to a rear pivot link by way of a rear mounting tube.

Motorized positioning apparatus for a seating unit

A breakaway coupling includes a body and a valve assembly inside the body. The body includes a fluid conduit and a shear groove between first and second portions. The shear groove is designed to crack, break, or separate under certain conditions. The valve assembly is designed to shut off fluid flow through the fluid conduit when the shear groove cracks, breaks, or separates. The valve assembly includes a valve seat, a sealing element, one or more pins, and a biasing member. The one or more pins hold the sealing element in an open position while the shear groove is in tack, and allow the sealing element to move to a closed position (with the help of the biasing member) in the event the shear groove cracks, breaks, or separates.

Breakaway coupling

A mechanism is provided for a seating unit that moves the seating unit between closed, TV, and fully reclined positions. The mechanism allows positively holds a footrest in a closed position, preventing the footrest from sagging over time. The mechanism includes a linkage that forces a link connected to the footrest to move initially upwards as the footrest moves from a closed position to an extended position. The weight of the mechanism holds the footrest positively closed, until a force is exerted that is great enough to move past the point where the link on connected to the footrest can descend.

A fluid system includes a loading arm connected to a swivel joint. A counterbalance mechanism is connected between the loading arm and the swivel joint. An adjustment mechanism adjusts the counterbalance force applied by the counterbalance mechanism to the loading arm. The adjustment mechanism includes a guide plate connected to the swivel joint and includes a guide slot and a straight bore guide. A bracket is movably connected to the guide plate and has one or more apertures and a threaded bore guide. Fasteners extend through the guide slot and the one or more apertures to selectively secure the bracket to the guide plate. A lead screw is disposed at least partially within the straight bore guide and the threaded bore guide. Rotation of the lead screw causes the bracket to move along a length of the lead screw and thereby adjust the counterbalance force.

Loading arm counterbalance adjustment mechanism

A zerowall motorized multi-position recliner chair mechanism is disclosed wherein, in accordance with a first embodiment, the chair seat rails are stably supported by means of a pair of oppositely disposed support linkage systems connected to the chair base rails. In addition, the rear sections of the pair of oppositely disposed support linkage systems are pivotally connected to the base rails at first pivot points, while the drive motor is pivotally mounted upon an integral structural unit so as to permit the drive motor to pivot around a second pivot point which is coaxially disposed with respect to the first pivot point. In this manner, the drive motor is substantially fixed, or at least positionally constrained, at a predetermined position with respect to the base rails, thereby providing additional stability to the chair. In accordance with a second embodiment, the drive motor is attached directly to the rear base rail.
