The ISC obtains an authorization descriptor that can be used to couple the administrative user name and the console role.

Associating operating system native authorizations with console roles

A method, programmed medium and system are disclosed which provide for an in-line scanner used to dynamically scan a document or image, real-time as it is being printed within a printer unit and before the printed document exits the printer. The scanned image is compared to a stored electronically-generated image of the file being printed. When the comparison is determinative that there is a printing problem, the printing operation may be stopped quickly before the partially printed document or image has exited the printer. An error message may then be displayed, and the user is enabled to take appropriate action. A resume function enables a user to resume a print job at exactly the place where it had left off before detecting a print problem. In another embodiment, when the system detects a problem with a print job, the entire print job of the remainder of the print job is sent from the faulting printer to another printer where either the remainder of the print job or the entire print job is completed.

A method, programmed medium and system are disclosed which provide for user-controlled management of power requirements for mobile devices. The system enables the user to determine and adjust power settings according to time-related goals set by the end user. The end user, in one example, may specify a goal in hours, minutes or a predetermined date/time and the power management function displays, for example, various combinations of power-down options on specific system devices which can be implemented to achieve power availability for the specified amount of time. The user is enabled to select which of the displayed combination power-down option schemes to implement in order to best suit the user's application requirements during the time frame in which the power-saving scheme will be implemented in order to maximize power-saving while still providing optimum functionality for the user's particular application.

An approach is provided that receives web page data at a network adapter included in an information handling system. A process identifies a first set style sheets that apply to the web page data and a second set of style sheets that apply to graphical elements that are within a predefined proximity area of a cursor that is displayed on the information handling system's display screen. The process displays graphical elements that are outside the predefined proximity area using the first set of style sheets and simultaneously displays a second set of elements that are within the predefined proximity area using the second set of style sheets.

A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for managing tab indexes. A Web page is displayed, wherein the Web page includes a plurality of tab indexes for a plurality of components in the Web page. User input is received for setting a position for a tab index within the plurality of tab indexes for a component within the plurality of components in the Web page relative to positions of tab indexes for other components within the plurality of tab indexes in the Web page to form a desired position for the tab index. The desired position is stored for the tab index for the component to form stored tab index information. Subsequent visits to the Web page result in the tab index for the component being in the desired position using the stored tab index information.
