A sensor system for sensing contaminants within a fluid stream of a fluid system includes a sensor body and an arm extending from the sensor body to a distal end of the arm, a laser light source configured to direct a laser beam outwardly from an outlet of the sensor body, and a light sensor. A fiber optic light guide is disposed in the sensor body and extends from the light sensor to an inlet of the sensor body for directing light to the light sensor. A beam dump is positioned at the distal end opposite the laser light source to absorb at least a portion of the laser beam directed towards the distal end. A blocking member of the arm is disposed intermediate between the sensor body and the distal end and is configured to partially restrict a field of intake of light at the inlet.

A prosthetic socket fitment system for fitting a prosthesis to a patient can include at least one transceiver assembly in contact with an external frame coupled to a patient, and a processing module in electrical communication with the at least one transceiver assembly. The at least one transceiver assembly can be aligned to the bone of the patient and configured to generate a signal directed to the bone of the patient and receive a reflected signal from the bone of the patient.

Methods and systems for operating a touch sensitive display are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for operating a touch sensitive display is provided that includes detecting a plurality of inputs via the touch sensitive display, interpreting, using at least one compute processor, each input in accordance with a location of the associated input on the touch sensitive display and a gesture of the associated input, generating a display based on the interpretation; updating a state of objects displayed on the touch sensitive display based on the interpretation, determining whether to generate an output to another device based on the interpretation, sending the output to the other device based on the determination, and displaying the generated display on the touch sensitive display.

Touch sensitive computing surface for interacting with physical surface devices

A flow meter includes a magnet actuated switch, and an impeller configured to be insertable into a standard NPT &#xbc;&#x2033; pipe fitting. Rotation of the impeller in response to a fluid flow actuates the magnet actuated switch with a frequency that is proportional to a flow rate of the fluid flow. The impeller has a cylindrical shaft and a plurality of extensions that extend from the cylindrical shaft that form a spiral shaped cross section. Each extension has an inner curved surface and an outer curved surface, and the inner curved surface is concave shaped to catch the flow of the fluid, and the outer curved surface is convex shaped to provide reduced counter resistance to the rotation of the impeller. A pipe section assembly includes a pipe section including a standard NPT &#xbc;&#x2033; pipe fitting and the flow meter vertically inserted into the pipe fitting.
