A welding system includes power conversion circuitry configured to convert input power to weld power and a first housing surface. The first housing surface includes a first mating geometry configured to mate with a first complementary geometry of a first modular surface of a first modular component of the welding system.

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a cable management system with a housing comprising a first shell and a second shell configured to couple together about welding system cabling such that a portion of the welding system cabling is contained by the housing. The first and second shells form openings at ends of the housing such that the welding system cabling is capable of extending through the openings and such that edges of the openings enclose a perimeter of the welding system cabling when the first and second shells are coupled together about the welding system cabling. A cradle receives a weld cable of the welding system cabling. A cable clamp engages the weld cable and cooperates with the cradle to restrict movement of the weld cable when the weld cable is disposed in the cradle and the cable clamp is engaged.

A wire feeder comprises a motor and drive roll assembly. The motor and drive roll assembly comprises a base assembly having a left hand side and a right hand side. A first locating mechanism is on the right hand side and a second locating mechanism is on the left hand side. Modules, such as inlet or outlet guides can be located and mounted, preferably on either side. Each module preferably includes an additional locating mechanism to allow an additional module to be located by the additional locating mechanism. The locating mechanisms are preferably of the same design, and preferably each includes at least two holes with a locator pin disposed in each hole, and each module being located includes at least locating holes to receive the locator pins.

This disclosure relates generally to removing wire insulation. In an embodiment, a system for heating and removal of wire insulation includes a power supply configured to receive input power and to provide a high frequency power output to an induction coil. The induction coil is to be coupled to the power supply and dimensioned to receive an insulated wire therethrough. The induction coil is also to produce a field based upon the high frequency power output to heat the wire by induction and to condition insulation disposed on an outer surface of the wire for removal.

Present embodiments include a modular welding component transportation system. The system includes a front panel and a wheel assembly. The front panel includes a support platform configured to support a welding system component and the wheel assembly includes a first plurality of wheels. The system also includes a rail configured to adjustably couple with the front panel proximate a first end of the rail and configured to couple with the wheel assembly proximate a second end of the rail. Locating surfaces of the wheel assembly are configured to receive and align the rail for engagement with walls of the wheel assembly. The system further includes a second plurality of wheels configured to be coupled with the front panel or proximate the first end of the rail.

A cooling system connected to provide coolant to a welding-type component automatically circulates coolant through the welding component upon activation of the welding component. A controller is configured to regulate the cooling system such that upon activation of the welding-type component coolant is caused to at least flow through the welding-type component, and circulate after deactivation of the welding torch until a temperature of the coolant falls below a certain value or a specified time period has expired. The cooling system is constructed to be integrally disposed within a power source housing.

Method and apparatus to adaptively cool a welding-type system

A method and apparatus for welding is disclosed. It includes a source of power and a controller. An output feedback circuit provides feedback to the controller. The controller includes a comparator that compares the fedback signal to a threshold and/or detects a short on the output. A standby/welding control is responsive to the comparator. Also, an arc end control may be provided that terminates the arc in response to detecting an increase in arc length.
