A technique relates to a fluidic cell configured to hold a nanofluidic chip. A first plate is configured to hold the nanofluidic chip. A second plate is configured to fit on top of the first plate, such that the nanofluidic chip is held in place. The second plate has at least one first port and at least one second port. The second plate has an entrance hole configured to communicate with an inlet hole of the nanofluidic chip. The second port is angled above the first port, such that the first port and second port intersect to form a junction. The second port is formed to have a line-of-sight to the entrance hole, such that the second port is configured to receive input for extracting air trapped at a vicinity of the entrance hole.

Fluidic cell designs for interfacing microfluidic chips and nanofluidic chips

A technique relates to a machine for sorting. A removable cartridge includes a nanofluidic module. The removable cartridge includes an input port and at least two output ports. The nanofluidic module is configured to sort particles in a sample fluid. A holder is configured to receive the removable cartridge. A pressurization system is configured to couple to the input port of the removable cartridge. The pressurization system is configured to drive the sample fluid into the nanofluidic module for separation to the at least two output ports.

Automated machine for sorting of biological fluids

A method of producing a bonded chip stack is described. A first nanofluidic device chip having a first through-wafer via is formed. A second nanofluidic device chip having a second through-wafer via is formed. The first nanofluidic device chip and the second nanofluidic device chip are washed with a detergent solution. A first surface of the first nanofluidic device chip and a second surface of the second nanofluidic device chip are activated by treating the first surface and the second surface with an activation solution. The first nanofluidic device chip and the second nanofluidic device chip are arranged in a stack. The first through-wafer via is aligned with the second through-wafer via in a substantially straight line. The stack of first and second nanofluidic device chips is subjected to annealing conditions.

Bonded nanofluidic device chip stacks

A technique relates to a machine for sorting. A removable cartridge includes a nanofluidic module. The removable cartridge includes an input port and at least two output ports. The nanofluidic module is configured to sort a sample fluid. A holder is configured to receive the removable cartridge. A pressurization system is configured to couple to the input port of the removable cartridge. The pressurization system is configured to drive the sample fluid into the nanofluidic module for separation to the at least two output ports.

A rotating magnetic field Hall apparatus is provided and includes first and second magnets disposed in a master-slave configuration, a device-under-test (DUT) stage interposable between the first and second magnets on which a DUT is disposable in first or second orientations for Hall measurement or photoelectromagnetic (PEM) testing, respectively, controllers disposed to center the DUT stage between the first and second magnets and orthogonal magnetic field sensors disposed aside lateral sides of the first magnet to facilitate positional initialization of the first and second magnets and to generate in-phase and out-of-phase reference signals for phase-sensitive or lock-in Hall signal detection. The system also includes software system to perform signal processing to yield the final Hall signal.

Rotating magnetic field hall measurement system

An improved respirator filter assembly includes an integral fit seal check mechanism easily controlled by the user. Upon release, the seal check mechanism permits free airflow through the filter assembly. The seal check mechanism includes an air passageway having a sealing rim and a blocking member which is selectively movable between engaged and disengaged positions relative to the sealing rim. A spring element is disposed to releasably maintain the blocking member in the disengaged position during filter assembly operation, wherein a user may actuate the blocking member against the bias of the spring element to move the blocking member into the engaged position to substantially prevent entry of air into the air passageway during seal checking.

Respiratory filter

The present disclosure is directed to a gasketless connecting filter adapter (20, 40) for airtight joining of a first filter (23) to a second filter (33). The invention includes a flexible cover element (42) being adapted to seal at a first face surface (41) thereof over the face of a first filter (23), and including a second face surface (55) having a recessed central aperture (59) therein. Disposed in the central aperture (59) are connection apparatus for mating with and securing thereto the second filter such that air passes through the second filter (23) into the first filter (33). The second face surface (55) further includes an integral and axially extending resilient lip seal (39) being adapted to sealingly engage the second cartridge (33). The present invention may be of one or preferably two piece molded construction, of particular cross section.
