Described herein are improved configurations for an apparatus that may include a plurality of resonators electrically interconnected and arranged in an array to form a composite resonator for wireless power transfer, each one of the plurality of resonators may include a block of a magnetic material having a conductor wire wrapped around a cross section thereof to form at least one loop enclosing an area substantially equal to the cross section, wherein the plurality of resonators are may be oriented so that a dipole moment of each one of the plurality of resonators is aligned with a dipole moment of each other one of the plurality of resonators.

A vehicle powering wireless receiver for use with a first electromagnetic resonator coupled to a power supply. The wireless receiver includes a load configured to power the drive system of a vehicle using electrical power, and a second electromagnetic resonator adapted to be housed upon the vehicle and configured to be coupled to the load, at least one other electromagnetic resonator configured with the first electromagnetic resonator and the second electromagnetic resonator in an array of electromagnetic resonators to distribute power over an area, wherein the second electromagnetic resonator is configured to be wirelessly coupled to the array to provide resonant, non-radiative wireless power to the second electromagnetic resonator from the first electromagnetic resonator.

Wireless energy transfer with multi resonator arrays for vehicle applications

A mechanical scanning dual-image display device utilizes two separate scanning mirror mechanisms with a common control that forces the scanning mirrors to move in opposition, and substantially cancel reaction forces. This cancellation is accomplished by providing each of the mirrors with an individual drive mechanism, commonly controlling the two drive mechanisms and arranging the geometry of each display so that the reaction forces acting on the overall display as a result of the mirror motion cancel. In a second embodiment, vibrations are reduced by driving both mirror assemblies from a common source. More specifically, both mirrors are oscillated by an eccentric and linkage mechanism driven by a common motor.

Dual image head-mounted display

A resonant scanning unit utilizes a 'tuning fork' design with a mirror mounted on one arm of the tuning fork and a counterbalance mass mounted on the other arm. A voice coil electromagnetic motor mounted between the arms causes the arms to move in opposite directions. Light generated by a line of LEDs is reflected from the oscillating mirror to generate a raster display. Reaction forces generated by the motions of the mirror and counterbalance mass cancel at the device base, reducing vibration. In addition, the inventive structure allows placement of the mirror pivot point away from the center of the mirror which allows display devices constructed with the structure to be reduced in size. A second embodiment is disclosed in which molded construction reduces assembly cost and time and allows precise tuning of the reaction forces.

A temperature compensation technique for memory disk pack systems used in data processing apparatus wherein the temperatures at the base plate and at the disk pack are monitored so as to generate a temperature compensation error signal. Such error signal is supplied to the feedback path of the record/read head position servo loop of the disk pack system when the record/read head has moved to within a selected distance of its commanded position. The overall disk system is enabled only when the temperature error has stabilized to a value below a preselected level.
