The invention relates to oral compositions for combating dental caries. The compositions comprise a fluorine-containing anti-caries agent such as sodium fluoride or sodium monofluorophosphate and a particulate hydroxyapatite as abrasive. These ingredients are surprisingly compatible in that there is a reduced loss of available fluoride upon storage.

Oral compositions

The present invention relates to oral compositions for treating sensitive teeth. These compositions comprise an agent for desensitizing sensitive teeth, such as potassium nitrate of strontium acetate, and a particulate abrasive material which is hydroxyapatite. The hydroxyapatite is compatible with the desensitizing agent.

The present invention relates to oral preparations having anti-caries activity. The compositions comprise a water-soluble casein material or sodium trimetaphosphate as an anti-caries agent, and a particulate hydroxyapatite as a compatible abrasive material.
