A system for mode selective control of an electric vehicle during a race. The system may include a demand controller configured for determining a demand made by a driver during the race to control a propulsion system to propel the vehicle, a battery controller configured for determining a supply of electrical power available from a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) to meet the demand, a temperature controller configured for determining temperature thresholds for the RESS and the propulsion system, and a supply controller configured for controlling use of the supply according to an endurance mode and a qualify mode.

Endurance mode for electric vehicle

A system for limiting performance inconsistences of an electric vehicle during a race or other circumstance when consistent, high performance output is desired, such as by enabling a driver to selectively engage endurance and qualify drive modes to control a supply of electrical power used for driving the electric vehicle.

A chassis control system of a vehicle includes: a first torque source providing torque to a first axle of the vehicle; a second torque source providing torque to a second axle of the vehicle independently of the first torque source; and a vehicle control module controlling the first and second torque sources to transition between a torque redistribution and torque limit control modes based on a wheel torque redistribution threshold, a wheel torque limit of the first axle and/or second axle, and a torque limit of one of the first and second torque sources. The torque redistribution mode refers to when torque is being selectively provided to the first axle by the first torque source and to the second axle by the second torque source. The torque limit control mode refers to when torque to at least one of first axle and the second axle is limited.

Coordinated vehicle dynamic handling balance control using torque management

An engine control module (ECM): based on an accelerator pedal position measured using an accelerator pedal position sensor, determines at least one of a predicted engine speed and a predicted torque output of an engine; and transmits the at least one of the predicted engine speed and the predicted engine to a network bus. An audio control module: is separate from the ECM; obtains the at least one of the predicted engine speed and the predicted torque output from the network bus; based on the at least one of the predicted engine speed and the predicted torque output, sets at least one of a frequency at which to output a predetermined engine sound and a magnitude for outputting the predetermined engine sound at the frequency; and applies power to at least one speaker of the vehicle to output the predetermined engine sound at the frequency and the magnitude.
