A range determiner assembly may include an image sensor, a detector board and processing circuitry. The image sensor may be configured to obtain image data for each of three views of a target at each of a plurality of different locations along the track of a craft moving at a determinable altitude above a surface of the earth. The detector board may include a first line array, a second line array and a third line array. Each of the first, second and third line arrays may receive a respective sequence of images from a corresponding one of the three views. The processing circuitry may be configured to determine a relative distance between the craft and the target based on the image data.

Hardware and system for single-camera stereo range determination

An atmospheric correction system (ACS) is proposed, which accounts for the errors resulting from the in-homogeneities in the operational atmosphere along the slant path by constructing atmospheric profiles from the data along the actual target to sensor slant-range path. The ACS generates a slant-range path based on the arbitrary geometry that models the sensor to target relationship. This path takes the atmosphere and obstructions between the two endpoints into account when determining the atmospheric profile. The ACS uses assimilation to incorporate weather data from multiple sources and constructs an atmospheric profile from the best available data. The ACS allows the user to take advantage of variable weather and information along the path that can lead to increased accuracy in the derived atmospheric compensation value.

System and method for atmospheric correction of information

A system for measuring a parameter of a medium with a vehicle moving in a traveling direction through the medium includes four detecting portions and a calculating portion. The four detecting portions respectively detect first through fourth values of the parameter from first through fourth lines-of-sight in first through fourth directions at first through fourth positions of the vehicle at first through fourth times. The first line-of-sight and the third line-of-sight are in a first plane and intersect at a first intersection, while the second line-of-sight and the fourth line-of-sight are in a second plane and intersect at a second intersection. The calculating portion calculates the parameter based on the first through fourth values and the first and second intersections.
