A quick release mounting assembly for an endless belt conveyor that allows a drive motor to be connected to a drive roller of the conveyor. The quick release mounting assembly includes a drive roller hub connected to the shaft of the drive roller. A drive motor hub is connected to the drive shaft of the drive motor. Both the drive roller hub and the drive motor hub include an external series of external splines. The mounting assembly includes a drive coupling having a first receiving area that engages the drive motor hub and a second receiving area that engages the drive roller hub such that the drive coupling transfers rotation of the drive shaft to the drive roller. The drive coupling is received within a housing that is removably mounted to a gearbox of the drive motor.

A conveyor construction for a continuous belt conveyor. The conveyor includes a conveyor frame assembly constructed from a plurality of separate extruded and joined frame sections. The frame assembly can include a pair of side frame extrusions joined to a center frame extrusion by a pair of attachment rails. The conveyor construction further includes a series of spindle mounting assemblies that support a tensioning spindle on opposite ends of the conveyor frame. Each of the spindle mounting assemblies includes a gear rack and a pinion head that is rotatable to move the gear racks. The gear racks contact one of a pair of head plates that support the tensioning spindle relative to the frame.

A zoned roller conveyor is shown and described for moving a product between upstream and downstream ends of the conveyor. The zoned roller conveyor includes first and second side rails that are spaced from each other to define the conveyor width. A series of driven support rollers are spaced from each other within the conveyor zone. A drive motor is coupled to the support rollers such that the operation of the drive motor can be used to control the rotation of the support rollers in either a first or a second direction. A plurality of conveyor zones can be formed along the length of the conveyor frame where each conveyor zone is separately controlled by a drive motor. A motor controller is used to control the operation of each drive motor to transfer the product between conveyor zones and to control the movement of the product within each of the conveyor zones.

Zoned roller conveyor

An extruded rail for mounting objects along the length of the rail that include an enclosed receiving and containment cavity. The extruded rail includes a receiving and containment cavity that extends from an inner surface of the rail. The receiving and containment cavity includes upper and lower walls and a back wall that define an enclosed containment area. An alignment notch is formed in the generally planar outer surface of the side rail and aligned with the receiving and containment cavity. When an object is to be attached to the rail, an opening is formed in the side rail at the alignment notch. As material is removed from the side rail during formation of the opening, the received material is entrapped within the receiving and containment cavity. Thus, the extruded rail of the disclosure receives and contains material removed during attachment of an object to the rail.

A conveyor frame assembly for use with a conveyor belt formed from individual links each joined together at pivot points. The conveyor frame assembly includes a drive assembly that pulls the conveyor belt around a drive roller to transition between the upper and lower runs of the conveyor belt. The drive end includes a support block that encloses the side edges of the conveyor belt as the conveyor belt transitions over the drive sprockets. The side frame members each include a continuous retaining channel having a height greater than the thickness of the conveyor belt. The retaining channels formed on opposite sides of the conveyor frame assembly allow the lower run of the conveyor belt to 'tent' by creating an angle between adjacent links of the conveyor belt assembly. The tenting of the lower run of the conveyor belt eliminates catenary sag.

The present disclosure relates to a conveyor frame assembly that includes a pair of spaced side rails joined by one or more cross supports. Each of the side rails includes a dedicated wire channel and self-contained air flow cavity that enhances the functionality of the conveyor frame assembly. The air flow cavity and the wire channel are formed as part of the side rails separate from typical attachment slots that receive T-shaped connectors. The cross supports utilized with the conveyor frame assembly are attached to the side rails by upper and lower connectors that are each accessible from the top of the conveyor frame assembly. Specifically, the cross support includes a center web and laterally offset attachment webs that allow for easy and convenient construction and field modification of the conveyor frame assembly.

A transfer tail assembly for use with a conveyor assembly that creates a reduced radius transition from the upper run to the lower run of a continuous conveyor belt used with the conveyor assembly. The transfer tail assembly includes a stationary nose bar over which the continuous conveyor belt passes at the end of the conveyor assembly. The nose bar is supported at the end of the conveyor assembly by a series of support brackets mounted to a cross support. Each of the support brackets is formed from a wear resistant material and contacts the conveyor belt as the conveyor belt passes around the transfer tail assembly. The nose bar, support brackets and cross support are mounted within the tail assembly without the use of any external connectors and thus require no tooling to assemble and disassemble.

Sanitary conveyor transfer tail assembly

A tip-up tail assembly is provided at the end of a continuous conveyor assembly having a moving conveyor belt. The tip-up tail assembly when moved to a retracted position allows the conveyor assembly to be completely sanitized without removal of the conveyor belt and without need for tools to assemble and disassemble the tail assembly. When sanitation is complete, the tip-up tail assembly is then moved to a horizontal operating position and supported by a pair of locking mechanisms. The locking mechanisms prevent the tip-up tail assembly from going below the horizontal operating position of the conveyor assembly.

The present invention is a corner section of a conveyor frame assembly that includes removable slide bars and wear strips. The corner section is formed from two side frames of stainless steel joined by multiple stainless steel cross supports. Each of the cross supports is configured to receive a plurality of slide bars formed from a durable plastic material, such as UHMW. The side frames of the corner section also receive a series of support rods positioned to support the lower run of the conveyor belt. Each support rod supports a continuous, lower wear strip and a support puck. The entire corner section can be disassembled and reassembled without the requirement of any external tooling.

A locking assembly for use with drive sprockets positioned to drive a conveyor belt supported by a conveyor frame assembly. The locking device includes a main body that extends through each of the drive sprockets positioned along a drive shaft of the conveyor assembly. The locking device includes spaced receiving notches that each receive one of the drive sprockets to maintain a desired spacing between the drive sprockets when the locking device is in its locking position. The locking device is movable to a release position to independently release each of the drive sprockets from the locking device. Once released, each of the drive sprockets are movable along the length of the drive shaft to facilitate cleaning of the conveyor assembly. When the locking device is in its locking position, the combination of the locking device and drive sprockets is movable along the longitudinal length of the drive shaft.

A conveyor construction includes a frame having a pair of side members, a belt and a tensioning section mounted for longitudinal extendable and retractable movement relative to the frame for establishing a desired tension on the belt. The tensioning section includes a spindle engaged with the belt and a pair of side plate structures connected to the spindle and located one adjacent each frame side member. A drive member is rotatably mounted relative to the frame and is drivingly engaged with the tensioning section for imparting longitudinal extendable and retractable movement relative to the frame upon rotation of the drive member. A locking device inserts a frictional locking force on the side plate structures relative to the frame side members for selectively fixing the position of the tensioning section relative to the frame. A restraining arrangement is incorporated in the side plate structures for limiting the retractable movement of the tensioning section upon the imposition of a random force applied to the spindle and overcoming the frictional locking force of the locking device so as to substantially retain the desired tension on the belt and preserve operability of the drive member.

A conveyor construction including a conveyor frame formed from a pair of side frame members interconnected with each other by at least one bed plate. Each side frame member includes a slot-type engagement structure that extends throughout the entire length of the side frame member. The slot-type engagement structure is capable of receiving threaded fasteners such that the bed plate can be selectively positioned along the length of the side frame members. The rotatable spindles mounted to movable head plates at each end of the conveyor frame are secured to internal bearings by an endwise engagement structure.

A conveyor construction includes a frame, a drive section stationarily mounted to the frame, and a tensioning section mounted for longitudinal movement relative to the frame. The drive and tensioning sections each include a spindle, and a belt is engaged with the spindles. The frame defines an upper support surface disposed below the upper run of the belt, and mating engagement structure is provided on the belt and the upper support surface for preventing lateral movement of the belt relative to the upper support surface. The drive and tensioning sections include spaced side members, each of which defines an inwardly opening cavity for receiving a bearing assembly for rotatably supporting the spindle. The bearing-receiving cavity faces the spindle, and each side member defines outer wall structure which engages and supports the belt outwardly of the spindle. The belt overlies the outer wall structure of each side member and the adjacent belt-engaging portion of the spindle, so as to seal the inwardly facing opening and prevent ingress of moisture or other contaminants into the bearing-receiving cavity. A drive and locking arrangement for imparting movement to the tensioning section and for selectively locking the tensioning section in position includes a pair of pinion carriers or retainer blocks mounted one to each side of the frame, with a drive pinion being rotatably supported by the retainer blocks. Each side member includes integrally formed gear teeth engageable with opposite ends of the drive pinion, and a drive pinion actuator is engaged with one side of the frame for imparting rotation to the drive pinion to extend and retract the tensioning section. A locking arrangement is interconnected with the opposite end of the drive pinion, and functions to selectively frictionally engage the drive pinion with one of the retainer blocks to prevent rotation of the drive pinion and to thereby maintain the tensioning section in a desired position relative to the frame.

A conveyor belt tensioning mechanism for use with a conveyor having a frame, a conveyor member in the form of a belt, and a pair of rollers, includes a pair of tensioning members mounted to opposite sides of the conveyor frame, with one of the rollers being mounted to the tensioning members. The tensioning members are slidable between extended and retracted positions by means of a pair of fasteners extending through a slot formed in each tensioning member and interengaged with the frame via a locking sleeve. The fasteners extend through a locking plate, such that tightening the fasteners frictionally engages the tensioning member between the frame and the locking plate. The belt is tensioned by loosening the locking fasteners and engaging a tensioning tool with the frame adjacent each tensioning member. The tensioning tools are pivoted into engagement with the tensioning members, and include a cam surface which forces the tensioning members outwardly to an extended position for tensioning the belt. The locking screws are then tightened to maintain the tensioning members in the extended position. Belt tracking can be adjusted utilizing a cam member mounted to the tensioning member, which is engageable with the end of the frame side wall.
