Method of using a vehicle to alert to potential risks includes determining that a user of the vehicle will be absent; determining an estimated absence time; and sending an alert to authorities, via a control system, if the user does not return within the estimated absence time. The method may include receiving the estimated absence time from the user, or the control system of the vehicle determines the absence and the estimated absence time. The user may define the absence and input the estimated absence time through a centralized location, such that the alert is sent from the centralized location. Following expiration of the estimated absence time, detecting a pedestrian near the vehicle, and then playing a pre-recorded emergency message through speakers, such that the pedestrian is made aware of the pre-recorded emergency message. Vehicle lights/horn may operate to guide the user, possibly in decaying fashion.

Vehicle beacon mode

A conical mount includes a housing defining an axis of rotation, a base member enclosed within the housing, a main rubber element coupled to the base member and enclosed within the housing, an upper metal portion positioned within the housing such that the main rubber element is positioned between the base member and upper metal portion, a radial snubber extending circumferentially around the upper metal portion, and a bearing assembly coupled with the radial snubber and positioned between the radial snubber and the upper metal portion. The bearing assembly enables the radial snubber to rotate freely about the axis of rotation to reduce a tangential load on the radial snubber.

An exemplary multi-position mount system for a powertrain component includes a mount assembly including a mount housing having a first mount edge defining a rectangular mount opening with at least two mount notch openings on each side of the rectangular mount opening, a sleeve insert having at least two insert tabs extending from each side of the insert, the insert having an insert opening with at least two insert notch openings on each side of the insert opening, a damping assembly including an alignment tab extending from each side of the damper body, and a T-bracket including a T-bracket sleeve having an edge defining an offset opening in the T-bracket sleeve. The sleeve insert interfaces with the mount housing and is rotatable within the mount opening, the damping assembly is rotatable within the insert opening, and the insert opening is spaced apart from the mount opening.

Multi-position mount system

A system to provide alerts to guide visually-impaired passengers to a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a passenger identification module that is configured to identify a passenger based upon sensor data received at an autonomous vehicle and a passenger proximity module that is configured to determine a distance between the passenger and the autonomous vehicle. The system also includes an alert module that is configured to generate an alert having an alert characteristic corresponding to the distance.

Autonomous vehicle passenger identification and guidance system

A volumetric filtering device is provided for use in a liquid level measuring apparatus. The device includes a communicating passageway between a first container for the liquid and a second container in which the measurement is to be made. The communicating passageway is provided with a first opening to the first container and a second opening to the second container, the first opening being located at a higher vertical displacement than the second opening. The described filter prevents passage of suspended particles, sediments, solids and other precipitants, as well as the passage of air bubbles, from the first container to the second container. The filter structure is also useful to prevent passage of a buoyant liquid, floating in a layer above the liquid to be measured, from the first to the second container. The passageway is volumetrically chosen to assure that none of the buoyant liquid will pass therethrough. A further vertical tubular component is provided to reduce the volumetric requirements of the communicating passageway. The tubular component includes an inlet-drain hole and a vent hole, both in communication with the liquid in container 1, and a sensing port in communication with the upper opening of the communicating passageway.
