Fluoride free and anionic surfactant free dentifrice having a high micro efficacy

A tooth whitening system comprising a dental tray having a surface operable to confront a tooth surface, and a tooth whitening composition comprising a whitening agent and a hydrophobic polymer carrier. The tooth whitening composition is preferably substantially non-water soluble. A tooth whitening kit is also provided using a dental tray and the tooth whitening composition comprising a whitening composition and a hydrophobic polymer carrier.

Hydrophobic tooth whitening system and methods of use

A dental tray with a hydrophobic tooth whitening formulation where the tooth whitening formulation is substantially non-water soluble, and a method of using this dental tray to whiten the teeth. The tooth whitening formulation is primarily comprised of a hydrophobic polymer and a peroxide or a peroxide yielding compound. Preferably the hydrophobic polymer is the condensation product of a silicone resin and an organosiloxane. The dental tray is formed to encompass the front and the rear surfaces of the teeth. The dental tray is comprised of a thermoplastic or thermoset polymer. The teeth whitening formulation is placed into the dental tray and the tray placed against the teeth to be whitened. This is for a sufficient period of time to at least partially whiten teeth. This can be a period of time from about 0.5 hour to 2 hours or more. The substantially non-aqueous tooth whitening formulation is effective over a longer period of time since it is not significantly diluted or removed from the dental tray during the treatment time.

Tooth whitening dental tray and method of use

An aqueous tooth whitening liquid composition comprising an orally acceptable vehicle comprising water and monohydric alcohol having dispersed therein a film forming combination of a poly(ethylene oxide) and a Carbomer, the pH of the composition being adjusted to and maintained at, an acid value.

Liquid tooth whitening composition

A dual component chlorhexidine dentifrice composition of improved shelf stability in which the first component is a gel containing a bis-biguanide antibacterial agent in which the gel vehicle is thickened with a cellulose polymer and the second component is a paste containing a silica abrasive wherein the bis-biguanide antibacterial agent provides undiminished antiplaque and antigingivitis effect with reduced staining when the physically separated components are combined and mixed upon application to dental tissue.

Dual component bis-biguanide containing dentifrice of improved stability

Two shingled streams of signatures are stacked independently of each other in separate stacking bins that are aligned vertically one above the other and also vertically aligned with the collection bin of a re-feeder. The collection bin is replenished periodically by stopping the shingled streams and unloading the contents of the lower and upper stacking bins to form a combined stack of signatures in the re-feeder collection bin. Signatures in the re-feeder collection bin are delivered by an out-feed conveyor belt in a single reshingled stream of signatures to an in-line processing station. In an alternative embodiment, the stacking bins are laterally separated with respect to each other for separately stacking signatures from two incoming shingled streams that are being output from separate web presses or other independent sources. The incoming signatures are separately stacked and the stacks are periodically unloaded onto separate stacking tables on laterally opposite sides of a common re-feeder. The signature stacks are separately delivered at different times into the re-feeder collection bin, thereby forming a combined stack of signatures that are subsequently reshingled into a single running stream.

Method and apparatus for merging shingled signature streams

A desensitizing anti-tartar dentifrice of low stringiness upon extrusion from a tube or other container onto a toothbrush is provided which also retains desirable cream or gel consistency without becoming thick and difficult to extrude and retains phase integrity without substantial separation, which contains polyphosphate or phosphono compound anti-tartar agent and potassium salt tooth pain inhibitor and in which the gelling agent is a mixture of alkali metal carboxymethyl cellulose, (CMC) and xanthan, wherein the CMC contains about 1.0 to 1.5 carboxymethyl groups per anhydroglycose unit.

Stable desensitizing antitartar dentifrice

A composition and method is disclosed for fluoridating teeth using a two component dentifrice system in which the first component is stable, semi-solid, extrudable dentifrice composition containing a fluoride ion releasable hydrolyzable complex fluoride compound such as sodium fluorosilicate, in an aqueous vehicle in which a carrageenan gum having major kappa and lambda forms as the primary thickening agent and the abrasive is a silica providing an acid pH when slurried with water, and the second component is a semi-solid, extrudable dentifrice composition containing a calcium ion releasable compound and the abrasive and carrageenan gum in an aqueous vehicle. The first and second dentifrice compounds are maintained separate from the other until mixed for application to teeth.

Dual component dentifrice composition for fluoridating teeth containing

A storage stable aqueous oral composition which is effective against calculus which contains an orally acceptable vehicle having incorporated therein from about 10% to up to about 15% by weight water, an effective anticalculus combination of about 0.5 to about 2% by weight of a water soluble pyrophosphate salt and about 0.5 to about 3% by weight of a water soluble polyphosphate salt. The presence in the composition of relatively high amounts of water affect the stability of the composition.

Storage stable aqueous dentifrice compositions having improved

A visually clear gel dentifrice comprising a polishing agent having a refractive index of about 1.41 to 1.47, a substantially water-insoluble noncationic antibacterial agent, an aqueous water-humectant liquid vehicle having a refractive index with about 0.02 refractive index units of the refractive index of the polishing agent and surfactant which is a sulfated polyoxyethylene alcohol sodium or potassium salt or a weight mixture of at least 3:1 to sodium or potassium lauryl sulfate with the sulfated polyoxyethylene alcohol or a weight mixture of about 1:3 to about 3:1 of sodium potassium lauryl sulfate with an N-acyl-N-alkyl taurate sodium or potassium salt. The visually clear systems have reduced formation of surfactant crystals when subject to cool temperature.

Visually clear gel dentifrice

An extrudable composite multilayer dentifrice composition for cleaning teeth containing reactive bicarbonate and peroxide ingredients which do not interact during storage or when extruded together from a container onto a toothbrush but react in the oral cavity when mixed during tooth brushing, the composition comprising two separate dentifrice components, one component containing a peroxide ingredient and the other component containing a colorant reactive with the peroxide ingredient, the components having substantially equivalent viscosity which are maintained in stable discrete layered phases in interfacial contact with each other prior to extrusion without interaction of the peroxide and the colorant and which are extrudable together in interfacial contact without interaction of the ingredients.

Multilayer bicarbonate/peroxide dentifrice

A dentifrice composition containing reactive ingredients such as peroxide and bicarbonate compounds which are stabilized to decomposition during storage by incorporating in dentifrice composition about 1.0 to about 5.0% by weight of an alkali metal compound.
