Metalaxyl having a high content of R-enantiomer of more than 70% by weight, or pure R-metalaxyl, in admixture with 4-&lsqb;3-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)acryloyl&rsqb;-morpholine (&ldquo;dimethomorph&rdquo;) or 3-anilino-5-methyl-5-(4-phenoxyphenyl)-1, 3-oxazolidine-2,4-dione (&ldquo;famoxadone&rdquo;), exhibits a clearly enhanced fungicidal action against plant diseases compared with a mixture of the same kind in which metalaxyl is used in the form of a racemate.
