A method of manufacturing a media assembly comprises winding a filter media about a center axis into a media roll and cutting the media roll along at least two cut lines and into at least two media packs of at least two media assemblies. The media roll is cut along at least one plane that is parallel to the center axis.

Filter assemblies with unique shapes

A filter assembly includes a filter housing having a longitudinal axis, the filter housing divided into a first filter chamber and a second filter chamber, a first element bottom endplate, a second element top endplate, an intermediate endplate positioned along the longitudinal axis between the second element top endplate and the first element bottom endplate, a first filter element housed within the first filter chamber and comprising first filter media positioned between the first element bottom endplate and the intermediate endplate, and a second filter element housed within the second filter chamber and comprising second filter media positioned between the second element top endplate and the intermediate endplate.

Integrated module with stage one and stage two filters combined in single housing

Filter media having generally tetrahedral shaped flow channels is described. The filter media is generally formed by a flat filter sheet and a formed sheet. The formed sheet may be formed by a curves and/or pleats in the sheet. The curves and/or pleats form the tetrahedron channels. Embossments, such as dimples, are provided on the crests formed by the curves and/or pleats. The embossments help to maintain spacing between adjacent layers of the filter media, thereby increasing dust holding capacity and decreasing pressure drop over similarly configured filter media not having the embossments.

Tetrahedral filter media

A gas-liquid separator includes a housing. The housing includes an inlet structured to receive a blowby gas stream from a crankcase. a cleaned air outlet, and a liquid outlet. A cover is disposed downstream from the inlet and upstream from the liquid outlet. The cover includes a baffle disposed over the blowby gas stream flow path from the inlet. The blowby gas stream impacts the baffle and separates liquid and aerosol contained in the blowby gas stream. A flange extends substantially axially downward from a side of the baffle. The flange is tapered substantially axially downward forming an inner surface. The inner surface is structured to route the separated liquid toward the liquid outlet. The inner surface biases separated liquid away from shedding toward the cleaned air outlet.

Oil management structures in crankcase ventilation

A filter assembly includes a conditioning device that conditions a flow of air upstream of a mass air flow sensor. The filter assembly includes a support frame. The filter assembly further includes a filter media coupled to the support frame, the filter media having a dirty side configured to receive a stream of air and a clean side configured to output a stream of air that has been filtered through the filter media. The filter assembly includes a conditioning device coupled to the support frame, the conditioning device positioned in a downstream direction from the clean side of the filter media with respect to the stream of air, the conditioning device offset from the clean side of the filter media by a separation distance.

System and method for improving mass air flow signal quality

Various rotating coalescer elements are described. The rotating coalescer elements include various arrangements of stacked separator discs or cones. In some arrangements, the described rotating coalescer elements include a combination of stacked separator discs or cones and filter media. In some arrangements, the stacked separator discs are designed to provide the largest possible amount of radial-projected separation surface area in a given rotating cylindrical volume, where flow to be cleaned is passing radially (outwardly or inwardly) through the rotating coalescer element. In some arrangements, this is achieved by stacking non-conical separating plates containing various area-maximizing features (e.g., spiral ribs, axial cylinders, spiral grooves, or spiral 'V' shapes).
