The present invention relates to a method for preparing a human intestinal epithelial model. The human intestinal epithelial model, prepared by the method according to the present invention, has all characteristics of goblet cells, enteroendocrine cells, and Paneth cells, and thus can highly mimic the function of actual human intestinal cells, so that the human intestinal epithelial model can be effectively used for development of new drugs, evaluation of drug absorption and toxicity, or evaluation of engraftment of intestinal microorganisms, or as a composition for in vivo transplantation.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a GM1 gangliosidosis human cell model based on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and iPSCs originated neural progenitor cells, and a use of the GM1 model above for the development of a GM1 gangliosidosis treating agent. The iPSCs originated from GM1 patient fibroblasts can be differentiated into neural progenitor cells (NPCs) and neurosphere cells that can emulate the characteristics shown in GM1 patient, so that the said cells can be efficiently used for the investigation of intracellular GM1 symptoms such as the GM1 gangliosidosis and lysosome accumulation and the gene expression pattern change. So, the GM1 cell model of the present invention can be efficiently used for the study of GM1 development mechanism and the study for the development of a therapeutic agent for the disease. The present inventors also established the inflammasome inhibitor rhIL1RA or Z-YVAD-FMK by using the above GM1 cell model and further confirmed that it can be efficiently used as a relieving/treating agent of GM1 gangliosidosis.

The present invention relates to a large-scale propagation and maintenance method of embryoid bodies generated from stem cells. More particularly, the present invention relates to a large-scale propagation and maintenance method of embryoid bodies retaining their intrinsic characteristics for a long period of time, comprising the step of continuously subculturing embryoid bodies that are primarily produced from embryonic stem cells or from induced pluripotent stem cells. According to the method of the present invention, after preparation of embryoid bodies from a limited number of stem cells, large-scale production and maintenance of embryoid bodies can be realized by a simple mechanical subculturing method without the continuous supply of stem cells.

Disclosed are an electrolyte for a secondary battery, and a secondary battery including the same, the electrolyte including an electrolyte salt; an electrolyte solvent; and a compound generating heat through oxidation at voltages higher than drive voltage of a cathode, wherein the compound can decompose or evaporate electrolyte components by oxidation heat, thereby causing gas generation. Also, the compound is included in an internal pressure increase accelerant for a battery. Upon overcharge, since a compound subjected to oxidation at voltages higher than normal drive voltage of a cathode generates heat, electrolyte components can be decomposed or evaporated, thereby generating gas by the oxidation heat. Accordingly, it is possible to operate a safety means of a battery, without using an internal pressure increasing material directly generating gas through oxidation at overcharge voltage as the electrolyte additive, and thus to improve the overcharge safety of a secondary battery.

The present invention relates to a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing new additives and a lithium secondary battery including the same. More particularly, the invention relates to a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing a lithium salt, an electrolyte compound, a first additive compound with an oxidation initiation potential of more than 4.2 V, and a second additive compound with an oxidation initiation potential of more than 4.2 V, which is higher in oxidation initiation potential than the first additive, and deposits oxidative products or form a polymer film, in oxidation, as well as a lithium secondary battery including the same. The present invention can provide a lithium secondary battery excellent in both the battery performance and the battery safety in overcharge by the combined use of the first additive and the second battery as additives to the nonaqueous electrolyte solution.
