A backlight unit includes a substrate, a plurality of light source assemblies disposed on the substrate, each of the light source assemblies including first to k-th light sources, where the k is a natural number greater than or equal to two, a plurality of sensing lines disposed on the substrate, the sensing lines respectively connected to the first light sources of the light source assemblies, a connection line disposed on the substrate, the connection line connecting the first to k-th light sources of each of the light source assemblies in series, and a controller connected to the sensing lines, and a width of the connection line is greater than a width of each of the sensing lines.

Backlight unit and display device including the same

A flexible display device includes a flexible display panel, a flexible printed circuit board extending from the display panel, an integrated circuit chip that is mounted on at least one surface of the flexible printed circuit board and is configured to drive the display panel, and a protection member attached to a rear surface of the display panel. When the flexible printed circuit board is flexed to be partially positioned on the rear surface of the display panel, the protection member is positioned between the display panel and the integrated circuit chip. The flexible display device prevents the integrated circuit chip stacked with the display panel from making direct contact with the display panel using the protection member. Thus, even if the display device is deformed into, for example, a flexed or rolled state, it is possible to prevent the display panel from being damaged.

Flexible display device

A display device including a first substrate comprising a first surface, a second substrate overlapping the first substrate and including a second surface overlapping the first surface, a display unit between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a supporting assistance member disposed between the first surface and the second surface, in which the supporting assistance member includes a first region and a second region, at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate includes a third region and a fourth region, transmittance of the first region is higher than transmittance of the second region, transmittance of the third region is higher than transmittance of the fourth region, and the second region surrounds the first region, the fourth region surrounds the third region, and the first region and the third region overlap each other.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display includes: a first substrate including a first through-hole; a second substrate facing the first substrate and including a second through-hole corresponding to the first through-hole; a sealant coupling the first substrate and the second substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; a spacer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a supporting assistance member including a third through-hole connected to the first through-hole and the second through-hole, wherein the supporting assistance member includes a first supporting assistance member made with the same material as the spacer.

Provided is a display device including a plurality of pixels; a plurality of data lines connected to the plurality of pixels; a data driver applying data voltages to the plurality of data lines; and a first test pad unit connected to at least one of the plurality of data lines in order to check the data voltages, in which the first test pad unit includes a test pad which is electrically double-separated from the at least one of the data lines.

A method for recognizing an image in an electronic device is provided so as to determine whether or not a specific object is actually within the presence of (immediate photographable vicinity) of the electronic device based on certain characteristics of one or more images of the specific object. Images of the specific object which is focused and shot at different magnifications are obtained. Characteristics of an object region and a background region between the obtained images are compared. Whether the object is real is determined depending on the comparison result. An apparatus hardware configured for operation of the method in electronic devices including but limited to mobile terminals.

Apparatus and method for distinguishing whether an image is of a live object or a copy of a photo or moving picture

An electronic device and a control method for configuring a multi-vision screen using a relative position between electronic devices are provided. The control method includes interacting with at least one other electronic device, capturing a first image and receiving, from the at least one other electronic device, a second image captured by the at least one other electronic device, determining relative positions of the electronic device and the at least one other electronic device by comparing the first image with the second image, and configuring a multi-vision screen using the display of the electronic device and the display of the at least one other electronic device based on the determined relative positions and controlling output of a content image on the multi-vision screen.

Electronic device and control method using relative position between electronic devices in the electronic device

An array substrate includes a substrate, a dummy pad and a driving signal output line. The substrate includes a display area displaying an image, and a peripheral area surrounding the display area. The dummy pad extends along a first direction in the peripheral area of the substrate, and includes a first protrusion portion protruding from an end portion of the dummy pad along the first direction. The driving signal output line extends along a second direction crossing with the first direction, is disposed adjacent to the dummy pad, and provides an external signal. Accordingly static electricity provided to the driving signal output line flows into the dummy pad having the first protrusion portion, so that static electricity may be prevented from flowing into the display area.

A method for displaying a message in a mobile communication terminal in which includes: when a message is received (or transmitted), a keyword is extracted from received (or transmitted) message contents; a determination is made whether a counterpart's (or one's own) sender information of the received (or transmitted) message exists, wherein when the counterpart's (or one's own) sender information exists, a determination is made whether a representative photo image exists in the counterpart's (or one's own) sender information, and when the representative photo image exists, a face detection feature is extracted from the representative photo image, and a keyword is extracted from the received message contents, and wherein a photo image that meets at least one of the extracted face detection feature and the keyword is searched for from an internal device or an external device.
