A process for manufacturing a ball and socket joint and a joint manufactured according to that process are provided for a simple manufacture of a completely assembled ball and socket joint with a low torque and overturning moment. The joint housing is manufactured in an injection or casting process, in which the joint ball with the bearing shell placed on it is surrounded by a metallic material or a plastic. The joint shell is provided with a bulge, which behaves elastically with respect to the pressure acting during the injection or casting process and arches slightly outwardly after the conclusion of the injection or casting process. It is achieved as a result that the joint shell does not lie over its entire area on the joint ball after the injection or casting process.

Process for manufacturing a ball and socket joint and ball and socket joint manufactured according to the process

A ball and socket joint comprises a joint ball which is enclosed and rotationally supported by a ball socket. The ball socket has two ball socket parts that move relative to one another in an axial direction. The ball socket parts acts on different sides of the joint ball that are opposite one another in the axial direction. A controllable adjusting device bias the two ball socket parts, relative to one another in the axial direction, so that pressure exerted on the joint ball by the twp ball socket parts can be varied. At least a first of the ball socket parts comprises a main body and at least one bearing section, which is elastically connected to the main body and by which the first ball socket part rests against the joint ball.

A wheel carrier for a motor vehicle in which the wheel carrier is typically manufactured from aluminum. The wheel carrier comprises a recess () for receiving an outer ring () of a wheel bearing (). An inner ring () of the wheel bearing () is fixed in a hub () of a wheel flange () of a vehicle axle. An axial end of the outer ring () of the wheel bearing () abuts against a shoulder of the wheel carrier (), and a rim section () of the wheel carrier () is at least partially deformed to abut an opposite axial end of the outer ring () of the wheel bearing ().

A ball and socket joint which comprises a joint ball which is enclosed and rotationally supported by a ball socket. The ball socket has two socket parts that move axially relative to one another, and the socket parts act on opposite sides of the joint ball in the axial direction. An adjusting device has a transmission and drive by which the socket parts can be moved toward one another in the axial direction and exert pressure on the joint ball. The transmission comprises a first part which has tracks that rise in the axial direction and curve around a rotational axis oriented in the axial direction and in which a ball is guided. A second part, which contacts the balls, is disposed between the transmission parts in the axial direction. The balls and the first part can be rotated relative to one another about the rotational axis by the drive.

The length of the chassis actuator is determined with the evaluation device by evaluating the at least one angle signal.

The invention relates to a switchable stabilizer device for the axle of a motor vehicle. Herein, the actuating device comprises a roll stabilizer and an actuatorically switchable coupling device () with two clutch devices () and a locking sleeve (). According to the present invention, the stabilizer device is characterized by a shifting device for shifting the locking sleeve () by means of mechanical power transmission. Herein, the shifting device has a servo-electric transmission drive element (). The present invention provides a robust and compact switchable roll stabilizer, which can be produced cost-efficiently. At the same time, the present invention allows for the actuatoric support of the opening movement as well as the locking movement of the stabilizer coupling with very short shifting times. The switchable stabilizer according to the present invention is suitable for motor vehicles, for example, which are employed off-road as well as on the road. Due to the extremely short shifting times of the stabilizer coupling, the stabilizer device according to the present invention may be used furthermore for an active running gear to support the vehicle dynamics in real time.

The connecting piece comprises a base body () made out of sheet metal in which at least one through bore () is provided, a plastic part () is rigidly connected to the base body (), and at least one articulated joint (), comprising a housing (), rigidly connected to the base body (). Each of the piston-cylinder units (&#x2032;) includes at least one piston (), which is movably arranged in a cylinder () and which splits the cylinder into a first and a second cylinder chamber (a,b). The cylinder chambers are separate from one another. The piston-cylinder units (&#x2032;) are respectively connected in an articulated manner, at one end, to an end of the stabilizerand, at the other end, to a spring-mounted wheel carrier part. The piston () has a connecting line () that connects the first and second cylinder chambers. The respective connecting line () has a nonreturn valve (), which acts in one direction. The piston () can be moved into at least one end position.

A wheel suspension is provided for a vehicle (), with a carrier element (), a wheel carrier () arranged at a spaced location from the carrier element () and a wheel () mounted rotatably on the wheel carrier (). The wheel carrier () is connected to the carrier element () via a first guide () and a first pivotable connection () and the wheel carrier () is connected to the carrier element () via a second guide () and a second pivotable connection (). A first angle-measuring device () is integrated in the first pivotable connection () and a second angle-measuring device () is integrated in the second pivotable connection ().

The piston-cylinder units () are connected to a hydraulic pump (). A stop (), against which the respective piston () can be moved, is assigned to each of the cylinders (). By an arrangement of valves, it is made possible for the pistons () to move out of each position in a purposeful manner against the stop () and to hold there in a defined position in order to restore the stabilizer action in a purposeful manner and effectively from any position of the vehicle.

The shifting device for motor vehicle transmissions is inexpensive and reliable in operation.
