The systems, devices, and techniques described herein are directed to scheduling wireless communications and verifying connections, for example, in an emergency call context. An emergency call scheduler can be installed in an application layer of user equipment to manage call scheduling. During an emergency situation, the emergency call scheduler can attempt to establish a communication based on a priority of network technologies (e.g., LTE, 4G, 3G, 2G) or a base station being in a subscriber network. As a call is established, a connection may be verified based at least in part on satisfying one or more handshake protocols and based at least in part on transmitting or receiving voice and/or data packets. Based on a location of the user equipment, or as a network topology is updated, a centralized server can update the emergency call scheduler to change the call scheduling priority.

Emergency call setup in wireless networks

A testing device(s) coupled to a network can test robustness of the network by injecting simulated traffic (one or more first data packets) into the network. Activity of a network node can then be monitored by obtaining first data associated with the network node. Based on the first data, the testing device(s) can determine when (and possibly how) to perform destructive testing for the network node, such as when the first data exhibits a value of a performance metric that satisfies a threshold, or deviates from a predetermined value by at least a threshold amount. Destructive testing can be initiated by generating and sending one or more second data packets that cause an unexpected event at the network node. In response to sending the second data packet(s), the testing device(s) can obtain second data to determine a node response indicating how the network node performed during the destructive testing.

A method for connecting a mobile device with one of a plurality of wireless networks begins by initiating a network selection process of the mobile device with the plurality of wireless networks. A remote server determines a geographic position of the mobile device with respect to at least one of the plurality of wireless networks. The remote server selects one of a first network and a second network of the plurality of wireless networks responsive to the determined geographic position of the mobile device and an associated rule set stored at the remote server.

Location based network selection method for a mobile device

A method pairs a mobile communications device card with a mobile device responsive to an actuation of the mobile device. The mobile communications device card determines if the mobile device has Bearer Independent Protocol (BIP) capability responsive to a downloaded mobile device profile. An over-the-air inquiry to a network providing wireless services to the mobile device requests an approval of an association of the mobile communications device card with the mobile device if the mobile device has BIP capability. The mobile communications device card determines if the mobile device profile is associated with a same service provider that is identified by the mobile communications device card responsive to a determination the mobile device does not have BIP capability or responsive to determining that a first identifier associated with a mobile device and a second identifier associated with the mobile communications device card do not match. The mobile communications device card disables operation of a user interface associated with the mobile device responsive to a determination that the mobile device is not associated with the same service provider as the mobile communications device card.

System and method for pairing a UICC card with a particular mobile communications device

A method for connecting a mobile device with one of a plurality of wireless networks, involves initiating a registration of the mobile device with one of the plurality of wireless networks. A geographic position of the mobile device is determined with respect to at least one of the plurality of wireless networks. A connection is established to one of the plurality of wireless networks responsive to the determined geographic position of the mobile device.

A method for pairing a mobile communications device card located within a mobile device with the mobile device, comprising the steps of accessing a first identifier associated with the mobile device responsive to actuation of the mobile device. Next, a comparison of the first identifier associated with the mobile device is made with a second identifier associated with the mobile communications device card. Authorization of the operation of a combination of the mobile communications device card and the mobile device is made responsive to the comparison determining the first and second identifiers match. Operation of the combination of the mobile communications device card and the mobile device is disabled responsive to the comparison determining the first and second identifiers do not match.

A roaming partner selection system associated with a mobile device includes a preferred roaming list providing a plurality roaming partner networks that may provide a network connection to the mobile device when a home network may not be selected. At least one rule set controls the selection of one of a roaming partner network from the preferred provider list or a home network for establishing a connection with mobile device. Control logic controls a selection of at least one of the roaming partner network from the home network responsive to the at least one rule set and at least one predetermined input parameter. The at least one rule set establishes which of the at least one of the plurality of roaming partner networks or the home network should be selected by the control logic responsive to the at least one predetermined parameter.

A telephone includes first circuitry enabling communications with a telephone network. A call block list includes at least one user designated number. A call blocking logic module is implemented within the first circuitry and selectively blocks incoming calls to the telephone over the telephone network responsive to the at least one user designated number in the call block list.
