The present disclosure relates to techniques for evaluating an electromagnetic field of a device under test.

Method of evaluating an electromagnetic field

A signal processing method of processing frequency domain signal data is described. The signal processing method includes at least the steps of applying, by the signal processing circuit, a first window function and a second window function to frequency domain signal data, thereby obtaining first modified signal data and second modified signal data, wherein the second window function is different from the first window function. The modified signal data can then be transformed into time domain. The signal processing circuit or other circuitry, such as a visualization circuit, may then generate joint visualization data based on the first transformed signal data and based on the second transformed signal data, wherein the joint visualization data comprises information on both the first transformed signal data and the second transformed signal data. Further, a measurement instrument is described.

A measurement device and method for testing a device under test (DUT). The device includes an input terminal for receiving a RF signal from the DUT; at least one analog-to-digital (A/D) converter configured to generate a digital data including a plurality of sampled signals from the received RF signal; at least one filter configured to filter the digital data generated by the at least one A/D converter based on an intermediate-frequency bandwidth (IFBW) set in the at least one filter; a detector configured to analyse the filtered digital data based on a pre-set number of samples from the filtered digital data; and a controller configured to calculate a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) value of the analysed filtered digital data, and to adjust at least one of the IFBW of the at least one filter and the number of samples of the detector based on the calculated SNR value.

Field probe for conducting antenna measurements by phaseless measurements. An antenna arrangement comprises three or four antennas for measuring RF waves. The measured RF waves are pairwise added and subtracted. Based on the result of the adding and subtracting operations, magnitude patterns and phase patterns are determined. In this way, magnitude and phase patterns of electromagnetic waves emitted by a device under test can be determined by a completely passive device.

Field probe and method for conducting antenna measurements

A system for over-the-air testing of a device under test includes a measurement antenna, a reference antenna, a device under test capable of wirelessly transmitting and/or receiving complex radio frequency signals, and an analyzer. The analyzer has at least two ports, wherein the reference antenna is connected with a first port of the analyzer. The measurement antenna is connected with a second port of the analyzer. The analyzer is capable of determining a phase difference and a power ratio of radio frequency signals received via the measurement antenna and the reference antenna. The present disclosure relates to a compact antenna test range (CATR) system. The CATR system comprises a measurement chamber, at least one feed antenna which is configured to transmit a radio frequency, RF, signal, at least one reflector which is arranged to reflect the RF signal towards a measurement area in the measurement chamber, and at least two preferably metallic calibration surfaces which can be arranged at two or more positions in the measurement area, wherein the calibration surfaces are configured to reflect a respective reflection of the RF signal back to the at least one reflector which is, in turn, configured to reflect the reflections of the RF signal back to the at least one feed antenna. The CATR system further comprises a measurement unit which is configured to receive the respective reflections of the RF signal and to determine and/or visualize a time difference between the reception of the respective reflections of the RF signal.

Compact antenna test range system and method for calibrating a compact antenna test range

A method of simulating an effect of interactions between a device under test and a scattering object by of a hybrid over-the-air (OTA) test system is described. The method includes the steps of determining at least one radiation parameter of the device under test, wherein the at least one radiation parameter is associated with electromagnetic waves emitted by the device under test; determining an equivalent source on a Huygens surface based on the at least one determined radiation parameter, wherein the equivalent source is associated with the device under test; assigning material properties to a Huygens box confined by the Huygens surface, wherein the material properties are associated with at least one of reflection of electromagnetic waves and absorption of electromagnetic waves; and simulating an electromagnetic interaction between the device under test and the scattering object based on the determined equivalent source and based on the assigned material properties.

A computer-implemented method for determining the phase center of an antenna under test comprises the following steps: acquiring a transmitted near-field or far-field signal of the antenna under test, by rotational movement of a measuring antenna relative to the antenna under test, the rotation covering at least the angle between the z axis and the x axis of the antenna, the rotational movement covering a spherical measurement region, the acquisition being performed at different angles phi to the z axis and while rotating, relative to the measuring antenna, the antenna under test around its z axis, obtaining far-field phase data by applying a field transformation on the near-filed or far-filed signal obtained, determining the main beam peak location within the measurement region, and transforming the coordinate center of the far-field data based on the main beam peak location in order to determine the phase center.
