The present invention relates to a heat transferring arrangement for cooling at least one light emitting diode, wherein the heat transferring arrangement comprises a centre portion configured for mounting the light emitting diode and adapted to receive heat generated from the light emitting diode when emitting light, and a plurality of elongated heat transferring elements, each having a first end portion connected to the centre portion and a second end portion which when inserted in a housing is configured to be in abutment with an inner surface of the housing, so that the generated heat is thermally transferred to the housing. Advantages with the invention includes, at least, that a passive heat transferring arrangement is provided which may reduce the need of an external fan or membranes to provide sufficient cooling.

Heat transferring arrangement

The present invention relates to a heat transferring arrangement () for cooling at least one light emitting diode (), wherein the heat transferring arrangement () comprises a centre portion () configured for mounting the light emitting diode () and adapted to receive heat generated from the light emitting diode () when emitting light, and a plurality of elongated heat transferring elements (), each having a first end portion () connected to the center portion () and a second end portion () which when inserted in a housing () is configured to be in abutment with an inner surface () of the housing (), so that the generated heat is thermally transferred to the housing (). Advantages with the invention includes, at least, that a passive heat transferring arrangement is provided which may reduce the need of an external fan or membranes to provide sufficient cooling.

A lighting assembly () configured to be mechanically and electrically connected to a socket (), the lighting assembly comprising a lighting module () comprising a light source (), electrical contacting means () electrically connected to the light source and a heat spreader () in thermal contact with the light source; and a connector () being rotatable in relation to the lighting module (). The connector comprises connector locking means () for locking the lighting assembly to a socket through interaction with receiving locking means comprised in the socket when the lighting module is axially inserted into the socket and the connector is rotated relative to the lighting module and the socket, thereby bringing the electrical contacting means () into contact with corresponding receiving contacting means () comprised in the socket. Hereby, the space required for electrical contacting means in the lighting assembly and in the socket may be reduced as no space is reserved in the socket for rotation of the electrical connecting means.

The disclosed embodiments relate to a light guide () and a luminaire () including such a light guide (). The light guide () guides light emitted in a first direction () from a light source () comprising at least one light emitting diode (). The light guide () directs a major part of the light in a second direction (), wherein the first direction () is not equal to the second direction (). The light guide () comprises an upper part () having a shape of a cone, and a center axis () of the upper part () is in the first direction (). The light guide () can be used with reflectors () that have originally been manufactured for use with high intensity discharge lamps or halogen lamps but because of the light guide (), the reflectors () can be used together with light sources () in the form of at least one light emitting diode ().

A lighting module () having a connection end () for connection to a lamp holder (), and a light output end () for outputting light, wherein the lighting module (), at the light output end (), is provided with a mechanical interface comprising first () and second () protrusions extending in a direction parallel with a longitudinal axis () of the lighting module and being configured to interact with corresponding protrusions () on an identical mechanical interface to transfer at least one of a rotational force and a pulling force to the lighting module (), so that a device (') provided with such an identical mechanical interface can be used as a tool for connecting/disconnecting the lighting module (). An advantage is that it is possible to utilize one lighting module as a tool to connect/disconnect another lighting module from a lamp holder.

A lighting module comprising a light source, electrical contacting means electrically connected to the light source and a heat spreader in thermal contact with the light source, the socket comprising at least a first set and a second set of socket contact means for providing an electrical interface with the electrical contacting means of the lighting module, wherein the socket is configured to retain the lighting module in a predetermined position in which electrical contact between the electrical contacting means of the lighting module and one of the first and second set of socket contact means is achieved and electrical contact between the electrical contacting means of the lighting module and the other one of the first and second set of socket contact means is prevented. A light-emitting device (), comprising an LED-module () comprising at least one LED mounted on a carrier and at least one connection pad (-) for electrical connection of the LED module (), a heat dissipator () for dissipating heat generated by the LED when in operation, a connection board () comprising a substrate having a conductor pattern for enabling provision of external power to the LED module (), an interconnecting arrangement (-) comprising at least one connection spring (-) attached to the connection board () electrically interconnecting the at least one connection pad (-) of the LED module () with the conductor pattern of the connection board (), and an LED-holder comprising at least one holding spring (-) attached to the connection board () exerting a spring force there by pressing the LED-module () against the heat dissipator () to provide a thermal connection between the LED-module () and the heat dissipator (). The interconnecting arrangement (-) is configured to allow movement between the conductor pattern of the connection board () and the at least one connection pad (-). The at least one connection spring (-) constitutes the at least one holding spring (-), to simultaneously electrically interconnect the at least one connection pad (-) of the LED-module () with the conductor pattern of the connection board () and press the LED-module () against the heat dissipator ().

A connector () for connecting a component () to a heat sink (), wherein the connector () is formed as a female part of a bayonet coupling enclosing an opening () for receiving one of the component () and the heat sink (). Further, the connector () in use is arranged to ensure direct thermal contact between the component () and the heat sink () in the opening ().
