A method and radio node for enabling higher-order modulation in a radio communication with a first UE. A first table configuration comprises at least one of a first Modulation and Coding Scheme, MCS, table and a first Channel Quality Indicator, CQI, table which tables support a certain maximum modulation order. When the radio node detects that a modulation order higher than the maximum modulation order of the first table configuration is potentially possible to use in the radio communication, the radio node instructs the first UE to apply a second table configuration which comprises at least one of a second MCS table and a second CQI table which second tables support the higher modulation order. At least one entry for at least one modulation order in the tables of the first table configuration is maintained in the tables of the second table configuration as a fall-back in case it is desirable to use the at least one modulation order of the first table configuration when the second table configuration is applied. Thereby, a higher data rate can be achieved in the radio communication.

Method and radio node for enabling use of high order modulation in a radio communication with a user equipment

There is disclosed a User Equipment for a MulteFire wireless communication network. The User Equipment comprises processing circuitry and a transmitter, the User Equipment being adapted for utilizing the processing circuitry and the transmitter for performing a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) procedure for one or more transmission bandwidths; transmitting Physical Uplink Shared CHannel (PUSCH) signaling in a PUSCH subframe on one or more interlaces within the one or more transmission bandwidths; and transmitting Sounding Reference Signaling on the one or more interlaces in the PUSCH subframe.

SRS design for unlicensed carriers

A method, apparatus, and system are provided for facilitating positioning based on signal correlation function characteristic feedback. In an embodiment, the method may involve steps performed by a network node in communication with a wireless communication device (WCD) and a plurality of base stations. The network node receives, from the WCD, location information including position reference signal (PRS) correlation function characteristics of a cross-correlation between a received downlink signal and a transmitted PRS for each base station from the plurality of base stations. The network node determines a position of the WCD using the PRS correlation function characteristics. The WCD may initiate the transmission of the PRS correlation function characteristics on its own, or in response to a request to do so from the network node.

Methods and apparatuses for positioning based on signal correlation function characteristics feedback

The present invention relates to a method for obtaining a location using Neighbor Awareness Networking, NAN, and a corresponding system as well as a method carried out by a NAN device and a corresponding NAN device so that a location can be obtained in a simple way. In particular, the method for obtaining a location using neighbor awareness networking, NAN, comprises requesting the location of a target NAN device; determining a cluster of wireless NAN devices comprising the target NAN device as well as one or more anchor NAN devices having predetermined locations to serve as positioning nodes; performing range measurements using the travel times of radio signals between the target NAN device and each of the one or more anchor NAN devices; and obtaining the location of the target NAN device based on the range measurements.

Methods for obtaining a location using neighbor awareness networking, NAN, as well as a corresponding system and NAN device

Systems and methods are disclosed herein that relate wireless device positioning based on cell portion specific Positioning Reference Signals (PRSs) by multiple Transmit Points (TPs) in a shared cell. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a TP in a cellular communications network is provided. The TP is one of multiple of non-co-located TPs of a shared cell that has a shared cell identifier. The method of operation of the TP comprises transmitting a PRS having at least one parameter that is a function of a cell portion identifier of the TP, where the at least one parameter comprises a frequency-shift of the PRS, a portion of a system bandwidth in which the PRS is transmitted, and/or a PRS sequence used for the PRS. By transmitting cell-portion-specific PRSs, the TPs in the shared cell enable wireless device positioning based on PRSs transmitted by the non-co-located TPs.

A method and a user equipment () as well as a method and a radio transmitter () for managing positioning reference signals are disclosed. Moreover, a method and a network node () for configuring positioning reference signals are disclosed. The network node () sends (A), to the user equipment (), a reception configuration of positioning reference signals, wherein the reception configuration comprises a cell identity relating to the radio transmitter () and an identifier for determining of positioning reference signals. The radio transmitter () determines (A) the positioning reference signals based on the cell identity and the identifier. The user equipment () estimates (A), based on the positioning reference signals, signal characteristics relating to a position of the user equipment (). The user equipment () sends (A), to the network node (), a report about the estimated signal characteristics. Corresponding computer programs and carriers therefor are also disclosed.

Methods and user equipment, radio transmitter and network node for managing positioning reference signals

Embodiments herein relate to method for transmitting positioning reference signals (PRSs) in a cell served by a base station. The base station maps PRSs onto different groups of time-frequency resources according to different respective PRS patterns, wherein each of the different groups spans one or more consecutive subframes in time. The base station transmits the PRSs in the cell in accordance with said mapping.

Communication nodes and methods therein for positioning in a wireless communications network

A method and a radio access device for performing the method for positioning of a target station (STA) by a radio access device. The method receives sounding feedback, from a target station (STA), for each of a plurality of subbands in response to sending a sounding signal, the sounding feedback comprising channel quality information for each subband of the plurality of subbands. The method calculates an angle-of-arrival (AoA) characteristic from the sounding feedback for at least a subset of the plurality of subbands and maps the AoA characteristics of the at least the subset of the plurality of subbands to a fingerprint in a fingerprint reference map. A Radio Network Node (RNN) and a method for enabling an improved reception of Positioning Reference Signals (PRSs) at a communications device. The RNN and the communications device are operable in a wireless communications network. The RNN selects a first precoder and a second precoder for forming a first beam and a second beam, respectively, and obtains a precoding switching pattern relating to when the first precoder is to be applied to one or more first PRS symbols and when the second precoder is to be applied to one or more second PRS symbols. Further, the RNN transmits, to the communications device, the one or more first PRS symbols to which the first precoder is applied; and in accordance with the obtained precoding switching pattern, the RNN transmits, to the communications device, the one or more second PRS symbols to which the second precoder is applied.
