A pixel array includes many scan lines, data lines and pixel structures coupled to the scan lines and data lines. Each of the pixel structures includes a first pixel unit and a second pixel unit. Each of the first pixel units includes a first switch device. Each of the second pixel units includes a second switch device and a coupling capacitor. In each of the pixel structures in an irow, a control end and a first end of the first switch device are respectively coupled to the iscan line and one of the data lines; a control end and a first end of the second switch device are respectively coupled to the (i&#x2212;1)scan line and a second end of the first switch device. The coupling capacitor is coupled between the second end of the first switch device and a second end of the second switch device.

Pixel array

An active device array substrate includes a number of scan lines, a number of data lines perpendicular to the scan lines, and a number of pixel regions. Each of the pixel regions includes a number of pixel sets arranged along a direction of the data lines. Each of the pixel sets has a number of adjacent pixels arranged along the direction of the data lines. The pixels in each of the pixel sets are electrically connected to the same data line. Each of the scan lines is separately arranged between the pixels. The data lines corresponding to the same pixel region are adjacent to one another and arranged at the same side of the pixel region.

Active device array substrate having bridge lines electrically connecting secondary and main data lines located on the same side of a pixel region and liquid crystal display panel and driving method thereof

A liquid crystal display panel comprising a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer is provided. The first substrate has an active device array, a pixel electrode layer and a plurality of first alignment patterns. Each first alignment pattern has at least a first shrinking area. The width of the first shrinking area is smaller than that of the other area of the first alignment pattern. The second substrate is disposed above the first substrate and has an electrode layer and a plurality of second alignment patterns. The second alignment patterns and the first alignment patterns are staggered. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The present invention can provide better dynamic pictures.

A thin film transistor (TFT) array substrate for reducing electrostatic discharge damage includes a substrate, a plurality of pixel units, scan lines and data lines. The substrate has a pixel area and a peripheral area adjacent to the pixel area. The pixel units are disposed in the pixel area. The scan lines and data lines are disposed in the pixel area of the substrate and electrically connected with the pixel units, wherein one end of each scan line extending to the peripheral area is a bonding pad for the scan line. One end of each data line extending to the peripheral area is a bonding pad for the data line. The other end of each data line extending to the peripheral area is an end part of the data line. Particularly, the end part of the data line does not exceed the outmost scan line.

Thin film transistor array substrate having scan or data lines extending to peripheral area without exceeding respectively outmost data and scan lines for reducing electrostatic discharge damage

A liquid crystal display device comprising a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer and a shading film is provided. The first substrate includes a display region and a non-display region. The liquid crystal layer is sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate. The shading film is located between the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer covering the non-display region. With the shading film covering the entire non-display region, the problem of light leakage from the edge of the display device is resolved.
