A roll for hot-rolling includes a body, wherein at least a part of an envelope surface of the body is made of a high speed steel that with reference to its chemical composition consists of the following elements, in weight %: 1-3 Carbon (C), 3-6 Chromium (Cr), 4.5-7 Molybdenum (Mo), 6-15 Tungsten (W), 3-14 Vanadium (V), 0-10 Cobalt (Co), 0-3 Niobium (Nb), 0-0.5 Nitrogen (N), 0.4-1 Yttrium (Y), eventualy distributed in the powder, and remainder iron (Fe) and unavoidable impurities, wherein contents of molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W) satisfy the formula Mo+0.5W=2.0-10.0 weight %.

Roll for hot rolling

A ring, preferably in the form of a lock nut, made for combi rolls, which ring includes at least one spring device in which a mechanical compression spring is included that acts between, on one hand, a front press body that is movable to and fro in order to constantly forward a spring force generated by the compression spring and, on the other hand, a support body, which may assume a fixed position, but which is adjustably movable by way of a screw in order to alter the tension in the compression spring.

Roll, as well as a ring for such a roll

A combi roll that comprises a roll shaft having a rotationally symmetrical basic shape defined by a central axis, as well as a number of rings in the form of roll rings and spacer rings, each one of which has planar end surfaces that extend between outer and inner, circular limiting edgelines, and that serve as contact surfaces against adjacent rings. At least one of the end surfaces of a ring, preferably a spacer ring, is limited by an inner edgeline, the diameter of which is greater than the outer diameter of the roll shaft. In such a way, the area of the contact surface is reduced while increasing the surface pressure, at the same time as the force transmitting ability of the surface increases by the fact that the radial distance to the center axis is increased.

A combi roll comprising a roll shaft and a roll ring mounted on the same against which at least one other ring is axially pressed, such as a spacer ring, the contact surfaces of the rings pressed against each other serving as torque-transferring friction joints. In the individual interface between two end contact surfaces there is distributed a great number of small grains of a material harder than the hardest material of anyone of the rings, the grains having the purpose of partially penetrating into each one of the contact surfaces so as to increase the torque-transferring ability of the friction joint.
