Organometallic compounds and compositions comprising a metal, an amido carboxyl moiety bonded to the metal, an active moiety bonded to the metal, and at least one modifier moiety sufficient to satisfy the valency of the metal. These compounds and compositions are capable of combining the substantivity of the amido carboxyl metal system, functional efficacy of an active moiety, and film-forming properties in a single compound or composition.

Applications for hydrophobic organo aluminum compounds

Fluorocarbon blowing agent compatible polyol blends are provided comprising reaction products of a combination of (a) a residue from the manufacture of dimethyl terephthalate, (b) a low molecular weight diol compound, (c) a nonionic surfactant compound, (d) optionally a hydrophobic compound, and (e) optionally a polybasic carboxylic acid compound. These polyol blends are produced by a simple heating process and are thereafter optionally blendable with various conventional polyols and other additives (including fluorocarbons and catalysts) to make resin prepolymer blends. Such resin blends can be catalytically reacted with organic isocyanates to produce cellular polyurethanes and polyurethane/polyisocyanurates.

Self-compatibilizing polyester polyol blends based on dimethyl

Phthalate polyester polyols comprising reaction products of a phthalic acid compound, a low molecular weight diol compound and a hydrophobic compound are provided which are compatibilized with fluorocarbon blowing agents and which possess a variety of other desirable characteristics. The polyols are producible by a simple heating process and are blendable with various conventional polyols and other additives to make resin prepolymer blends which can be catalytically reacted with organic isocyanates to produce cellular polyurethanes and polyurethane/polyisocyanurates.

Phthalate polyester polyols comprising reaction products of a phthalic acid compound, a low molecular weight diol compound and a hydrophobic compound and a nonionic surfactant compound are provided which are compatible with fluorocarbon blowing agents and which possess a variety of other desirable characteristics. Terephthalate polyester polyol blends comprising reaction products of a combination of polyethylene terephthalate, a polybasic carboxylic acid compound, a low molecular weight diol compound and a compatibilizer compound are compatible with fluorocarbon blowing agents. These polyol blends are produced by a simple heating process and are thereafter blendable with various conventional polyols and other additives to make resin prepolymer blends which can be catalytically reacted with organic isocyanates to produce cellular polyurethanes and polyurethane/polyisocyanurates.

Self-compatibilizing polyester polyol blends based on polyalkylene

Polyamide resins of fatty acids are prepared by reacting polymeric fatty acids, an alkylene diamine, monoaminoalcohol and a chain stopping agent which includes a particular branched chain monocarboxylic fatty acid which is liquid at room temperature. The use of this particular chain stopping agent provides polyamide resins which are resistant to gelling during storage.
