An improved push button socket release mechanism which utilizes a locking ramp form which provides for a wide range of socket retention fit, and improves both the self-locking and anti-rattle capability of the socket retention mechanism.

Push button socket release mechanism

A universal joint for power drive tools and the like. The universal assembly includes a means for connection to a tool and a means for engaging the nut or a head of a fastening member, such as a bolt. Articulation of the universal is accomplished by means of a quadrified ball in a square socket. The head of the ball retains its spherical form, and the base of the socket is spherical in shape to accommodate the ball head. The four sides of the quadrified ball do not intersect thereby retaining the spherical configuration of the ball at the corners. A unique ball spring preloads the socket. The resulting combination is ideally suited for power drive tools wherein the forces generated are high, and the rotation is rapid.

Universal joint

Disclosed is a gear or sleeve puller having a slide hammer which serves to function as a means of adjusting the gripping jaws in areas of limited access. The slide hammer device is equipped with adjusting collar engaging dogs whereby the operator may extend his reach of the adjusting collar. With the dogs engaged the operator merely rotates the slide hammer to rotate the adjusting collar and thereby accomplish adjustment of the engaging jaws. The slide hammer may then be manipulated in the conventional manner to remove a sleeve or similar devices.

Pulling device

This invention relates to devices for removing gears, bearings, sleeves, and the like, from a shaft or cylinder. The invention relates to an improved device for this purpose that combines a reversible gear and sleeve puller in one tool. The jaws of the device are fully adjustable and secured relative to the work piece.
