The present disclosure is directed to rubber compositions comprising at least one rubber, at least one reinforcing carbon black filler, and a whey protein component. The whey protein component is in an amount sufficient to provide about 0.1 to about 10 phr whey protein. The present disclosure is also directed to methods of preparing such rubber compositions and to tire components containing the rubber compositions disclosed herein.

Rubber compositions containing carbon black and whey protein

The present disclosure is directed to rubber compositions comprising at least one rubber, at least one reinforcing carbon black filler, and a whey protein component. The whey protein component is in an amount sufficient to provide about 0.1 to about 5 phr whey protein. The present disclosure is also directed to methods of preparing such rubber compositions and to tire components containing the rubber compositions disclosed herein.

A tire comprising an innerliner, where the innerliner includes a rubber, a first carbon black having a statistical thickness surface area of at least 50 m/g, and a second carbon black having a statistical thickness surface area of at most 45 m/g.

The present disclosure is directed to rubber compositions comprising a butyl rubber or a halogenated butyl rubber, at least one filler, and a whey protein component. The whey protein component is present in an amount sufficient to provide about 0.1 to about 10 phr whey protein in the rubber composition. The present disclosure is also directed to methods of preparing such rubber compositions and to a tire innerliner or innertube containing the rubber compositions disclosed herein.

The whey protein component is in an amount sufficient to provide about 0.1 to about 10 phr whey protein. The present disclosure is also directed to methods of preparing such rubber compositions and to tire components containing the rubber compositions disclosed herein.

Disclosed herein are rubber compositions comprising at least one rubber, titanium oxide filler and a whey protein component, and related methods as well as tire components containing the rubber compositions disclosed herein.
