Techniques for probabilistic analysis of chemicals are provided. An indication of a proposed chemical composition is received. A predicted toxicity score is generated for the proposed chemical composition by performing probabilistic analysis on the proposed chemical composition. The probabilistic analysis includes identifying, based on a knowledge graph, at least one similar composition that is structurally similar to the proposed chemical composition. The analysis also includes identifying a set of chemical reactions that include the at least one similar composition, and determining one or more products of the identified set of chemical reactions. The probabilistic analysis further includes determining a toxicity of at least one of the one or more products. Finally, the predicted toxicity score is returned.

Acoustic dampeners, methods of making acoustic dampener, and uses thereof are described. The acoustic dampener includes a polymer foam article; and a metal-organic framework portion. The metal-organic framework portion comprises a metal-organic framework in a polymer matrix. The metal-organic framework portion is adhered to, or otherwise coupled to or included with, the polymer foam article. Such an acoustic dampener can be used in a computer equipment cabinet.

In an example, a composite thermal interface object includes a first layer including a first thermal interface material that has first compliance characteristics. The first layer includes first graphite fibers, and the first graphite fibers are aligned in a direction that is substantially orthogonal to a surface of the first layer. In an example, a method of repairing a pipeline includes isolating a section of a pipeline that includes a leak site. The method includes flooding the section of the pipeline with a plug formulation that includes artificial platelets and an ultraviolet (UV) photoinitiator. The section may be pressurized to induce migration of the artificial platelets to the leak site. The method also includes draining excess plug formulation from the section of the pipeline. The method further includes exposing the UV photoinitiator to UV light to form a gas impermeable seal at the leak site.

Embodiments of the disclosure generally provide flame retardant compositions and methods comprising organic polymers, mineral fillers, high surface area mineral fillers and process aids. Compositions of the disclosure additionally are comprised of high surface area hydrated metal carbonate fillers, including the mesoporous amorphous magnesium carbonate filler Upsalite. The filler's porous structure and high surface area provides high water capacity, enhanced physical and chemical interaction with a polymer in composite, lower by weight loadings of filler in a composite, as well as effective flame retardancy.

A preform plastic sheet is places over components of an integrated circuit such that during a reflow process, the preform plastic sheet melts to form a conformal coating over components of the integrated circuit assembly.

A conductive via and method of forming a conductive via in a multilayer printed circuit board are disclosed. A hole is drilled into a printed circuit board that is reinforced with glass fibers, wherein the hole extends between two conductive elements on different layers of the printed circuit board and cuts through a portion of the glass fibers. A tungsten nitride layer is then deposited on the walls of the hole, wherein the tungsten nitride layer has a thickness between 1.5 nanometers and 20 nanometers. A copper layer is deposited over the tungsten nitride layer, wherein the copper and tungsten nitride form a conductive via that provides an electrically conductive pathway between the two conductive elements, and wherein the tungsten nitride layer isolates the copper layer from the glass fibers.

Preventing the formation of conductive anodic filaments in a printed circuit board

A printing system for indicating print media quality to printer users includes a printing assembly configured to route print media along a pathway for printing. In an example, the system includes, but is not limited to, a thermal printer having a thermal print head for printing onto paper. The system also includes a light meter configured to detect light reflected from the print media, such as the paper. The light meter also measures a characteristic of the detected light. An indicator is coupled to the light meter, and configured to present a quality level of the print media to a user based on the measured characteristic of the detected light.

Indication of print media quality to printer users

An apparatus is provided, which includes a dust detector, a voltage source, and a controller. The dust detector includes two opposing surfaces and a conductive dust sensor. The two opposing surfaces are disposed in spaced, opposing relation to allow for the passage of airflow between the surfaces, and the conductive dust sensor is disposed at a surface of the two opposing surfaces. The voltage source is configured and controlled to establish an electrostatic field at least partially between the two opposing surfaces to facilitate directing conductive particles in the airflow passing between the two opposing surfaces towards the dust sensor. The controller monitors for a leakage current within the conductive dust sensor and determines whether the leakage current exceeds a predetermined trigger level indicative of the presence of conductive dust, and if so, automatically indicates a conductive dust warning.
