Disclosed herein are glass containers which may include a glass body comprising an alkali aluminosilicate glass composition having a Class HGA1 hydrolytic resistance when tested according to the ISO 720:1985 testing standard. The glass body may have an interior surface and an exterior surface. A heat-tolerant coating may be bonded to at least a portion of the exterior surface of the glass body. The heat-tolerant coating may have a coefficient of friction of less than about 0.7 and is thermally stable at a temperature of at least 260° C. for 30 minutes. The heat-tolerant coating may comprise a polymer, and the heat-tolerant coating may have a thickness of less than or equal to 100 nm.

Delamination resistant glass containers with heat-tolerant coatings

The embodiments described herein relate to chemically and mechanically durable glass compositions and glass articles formed from the same. In embodiments, the glass composition may include 74-78 mol. % SiO; X mol. % AlO, wherein X is 5-7; alkaline earth oxide comprising MgO and CaO, wherein: CaO is 0.1-1.0 mol. %; MgO is 4-7 mol. %; and a ratio (CaO (mol. %)/(CaO (mol. %)+MgO (mol. %)) is less than or equal to 0.5. The glass composition may further include Y mol. % alkali oxide, wherein the alkali oxide comprises 9-13 mol. % NaO and less than or equal to 0.4 mol. % of a fining agent. The glass composition may be free of boron and compounds of boron.

Glass compositions with improved chemical and mechanical durability

A method of making a stoichiometric monazite (LaPO) composition or a mixture of LaPOand LaPOcomposition, as defined herein. Also disclosed is a method of joining or sealing materials with the compositions, as defined herein.

High temperature sealant and methods thereof

According to one embodiment, a glass article may include SiO, AlO, LiO and NaO. The glass article may have a softening point less than or equal to about 810&#xb0; C. The glass article may also have a high temperature CTE less than or equal to about 27&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. The glass article may also be ion exchangeable such that the glass has a compressive stress greater than or equal to about 600 MPa and a depth of layer greater than or equal to about 25 &#x3bc;m after ion exchange in a salt bath comprising KNOat a temperature in a range from about 390&#xb0; C. to about 450&#xb0; C. for less than or equal to approximately 15 hours.

Ion exchangeable Li-containing glass compositions for 3-D forming

A method includes depositing a glass frit on sidewalls of a plurality of cavities of a shaped article formed from a glass material, a glass ceramic material, or a combination thereof. The glass frit is heated to a firing temperature above a glass transition temperature of the glass frit to sinter the glass frit into a glaze disposed on the sidewalls of the plurality of cavities.

Methods and apparatus for forming shaped articles, shaped articles, methods for manufacturing liquid lenses, and liquid lenses

Disclosed herein are delamination resistant glass pharmaceutical containers which may include a glass body having a Class HGA1 hydrolytic resistance when tested according to the ISO 720:1985 testing standard. The glass body may have an interior surface and an exterior surface. The interior surface of the glass body does not comprise a boron-rich layer when the glass body is in an as-formed condition. A heat-tolerant coating may be bonded to at least a portion of the exterior surface of the glass body. The heat-tolerant coating may have a coefficient of friction of less than about 0.7 and is thermally stable at a temperature of at least 250&#xb0; C. for 30 minutes.

The embodiments described herein relate to chemically and mechanically durable glass compositions and glass articles formed from the same. In an embodiment the glass composition may include from about 67 mol. % to about 80 mol. % SiO; from about 3 mol. % to about 13 mol. % alkaline earth oxide; from about 2 mol. % to about 10 mol. % AlO; from about 2 mol. % to about 18 mol. % alkali oxide, wherein the alkali oxide comprises non-zero amounts of NaO; from 0 mol. % to about 4 mol. % BO; and from about 0.01 mol. % to about 1 mol. % of a fining agent.

According to one embodiment, a glass composition may include from 65 mol. % to about 75 mol. % SiO; from about 6 mol. % to about 12.5 mol. % AlO; from about 5 mol. % to about 12 mol. % alkali oxide; and from about 2 mol. % to about 7 mol. % CaO. The glass composition may be free from boron and BaO. The glass composition may be susceptible to strengthening by ion-exchange.

Alkaline earth alumino-silicate glass compositions with improved chemical and mechanical durability

Disclosed herein are delamination resistant glass pharmaceutical containers which may include an aluminosilicate glass having a Class HGA 1 hydrolytic resistance when tested according to ISO 720-1985 testing standard. The glass containers may also have a compressive stress layer with a depth of layer of greater than 25 &#x3bc;m. A surface compressive stress of the glass containers may be greater than or equal to 350 MPa. The delamination resistant glass pharmaceutical containers may be ion exchange strengthened and the ion exchange strengthening may include treating the delamination resistant glass pharmaceutical container in a molten salt bath for a time less than or equal to 5 hours at a temperature less than or equal to 450&#xb0; C.

The embodiments described herein relate to chemically and mechanically durable glass compositions and glass articles formed from the same. In another embodiment, a glass composition may include from about 70 mol. % to about 80 mol. % SiO; from about 3 mol. % to about 13 mol. % alkaline earth oxide; X mol. % AlO; and Y mol. % alkali oxide. The alkali oxide may include NaO in an amount greater than about 8 mol. %. A ratio of Y:X may be greater than 1 and the glass composition may be free of boron and compounds of boron. In some embodiments, the glass composition may also be free of phosphorous and compounds of phosphorous. Glass articles formed from the glass composition may have at least a class S3 acid resistance according to DIN 12116, at least a class A2 base resistance according to ISO 695, and a type HGA1 hydrolytic resistance according to ISO 720.

According to one embodiment, a glass composition may include from 67 mol. % to about 75 mol. % SiO; from about 6 mol. % to about 10 mol. % AlO; and from about 5 mol. % to about 12 mol. % alkali oxide. The alkali oxide may include KO in an amount less than or equal to 0.5 mol. %. The glass composition may further include from about 9 mol. % to about 15 mol. % of alkaline earth oxide. The alkaline earth oxide may include greater than about 0 mol. % and less than or equal to 3 mol. % MgO, from 2 mol. % to about 7 mol % CaO, at least one of SrO and BaO. The glass composition may further include less than 1 mol. % BO. A ratio of a concentration of MgO to the sum of the concentration of divalent cations (MgO:&#x3a3;RO) may be less than 0.3.

Delamination resistant glass containers with heat-tolerant coatings are disclosed. In one embodiment, a glass container may include a glass body having an interior surface, an exterior surface and a wall thickness extending from the exterior surface to the interior surface. At least the interior surface of the glass body is delamination resistant. The glass container may further include a heat-tolerant coating positioned on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the glass body. The heat-tolerant coating may be thermally stable at temperatures greater than or equal to 260&#xb0; C. for 30 minutes.
