A medical drain sensor is provided located in a region of a drain tube which has turbulent or re-circulatory exudate flow. Means are provided in some embodiments to promote or enhance such flow.

A method for detecting a malfunction of an acoustic sensor coupled to an electrochemical generator includes applying an electrical signal at a given frequency and a given amplitude, termed the signal frequency and signal amplitude; measuring, by the acoustic sensor, an acoustic signal emitted by the electrochemical generator in response to the application of the electrical signal; and, when the amplitude of the acoustic signal is below a predetermined threshold value, and detecting a malfunction of the acoustic sensor.

A method recalibrates in situ a comparison electrode integrated into an electrochemical system. The electrochemical system includes a working electrode, a counter electrode, and an electrolyte. The method includes verifying a potential of the comparison electrode relative to the working electrode or to the counter electrode in situ, detecting whether there is a drift in the potential of the comparison electrode relative to a potential plateau for which the comparison electrode was functionalized or designed, and when the drift is detected, recalibrating the comparison electrode in situ.

A device for managing an accumulator, including: a plurality of strain gauges including at least three strain gauges, the strain gauges being arranged to measure stresses along at least three distinct stress axes; a measuring device measuring strains undergone by each gauge along its stress axis; a reversible electrical switch; a calculating device controlling opening and closing of the electrical switch, depending on measurements carried out by the measuring device.
