Disclosed is a class of dendrimers containing cyclometalated tridentate platinum(II) compounds with one monoanionic auxiliary ligand, both coordinated to a platinum (II) metal center and having the chemical structure shown in generic formula (I), wherein at least one of R, Rand Rbeing a dendrimeric moiety of general formula (II), each being optionally substituted.

Dendrimers containing luminescent platinum(II) compounds for organic light-emitting devices and their preparation

A novel class of gold (III) compounds with thermally stimulated delayed phosphorescence (TSDP) properties, methods of making and use thereof are disclosed. The gold (III) compound includes a triazine-containing cyclometalating tridentate ligand and one auxiliary ligand, both coordinated to a gold (III) metal center. The gold (III) compounds can be used as light-emitting material for fabrication of OLEDs. A novel concept of TSDP to harvest light emission from the higher energy triplet excited state via the up-conversion from the lowest-energy triplet excited state by efficient spin-allowed reverse internal conversion is also disclosed.

Luminescent gold(III) compounds with thermally stimulated delayed phosphorescence (TSDP) property for organic light-emitting devices and their preparation

Described herein are transition metal complexes containing nickel(II), as the central metal atom, and tridentate and tetradentate ligands. The transition metal complexes also include an ancillary ligand with strong σ-donating properties. The ancillary ligand enhances the luminescence by increasing the chances of populating the emissive state. The transition metal complexes are emissive at room temperature and/or low temperature in various media, rendering them useful as light-emitting materials for OLEDs.

Transition metal luminescent complexes and methods of use

A series of thermally stable and highly luminescent cyclometalated tetradentate ligand-containing gold(III) compounds was designed and synthesized. The cyclometalated tetradentate ligand-containing gold(III) compounds can be used as light-emitting material for fabrication of light-emitting devices. The cyclometalated tetradentate ligand-containing gold(III) compounds can be deposited as a layer or a component of a layer using a solution-processing technique or a vacuum deposition process. The cyclometalated tetradentate ligand-containing gold(III) compounds are robust and can provide electroluminescence with high efficiency and brightness. More importantly, the vacuum-deposited OLEDs demonstrate long operational stabilities with half-lifetime of over 29,700 hours at 100 cd m.

A highly rigid tetradentate ligand is combined with a gold(III) ion as a thermally stable tetradentate gold(III) complex. The tetradentate gold(III) complex is a tetradentate gold(III) compound that can be used as a light-emitting material which can be used for fabricated of light-emitting devices such as an organic light-emitting diode (OLED). The tetradentate gold(III) compound can be deposited as a layer or a component of a layer using a solution-process or a vacuum deposition process. The luminescent tetradentate gold(III) compounds are robust and can provide electroluminescence (EL) with a high efficiency and brightness.

Luminescent tetradentate gold(III) compounds for organic light-emitting devices and their preparation

Described herein are gold (III) compounds according to formula (I) for use as emitters in organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) and methods of making and using said compounds. The gold (III) compound includes a group 15 element containing tridentate ligand and one aryl auxiliary ligand that are both coordinated to the gold (III) metal center to form a series of thermally stable and highly luminescent gold (III) complexes. The gold (III) compounds disclosed herein can be used as light-emitting material for fabrication of OLEDs. The gold (III) compounds can be deposited as a layer or a component of a layer using a solution processing technique or a vacuum deposition process. The gold (III) compounds are robust and can provide electroluminescence with high efficiency and brightness. 

Luminescent gold(III) compounds for organic light-emitting devices

The subject invention provides compositions of and methods of using carbo- and heterocyclic spiro compounds as donor materials for organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices. In preferred embodiments, spiro compounds comprising triarylamine and derivatives thereof demonstrate effective hole-transporting properties in OPV devices, achieving up to 5.46% of power conversion efficiency. Advantageously, preferred compounds provided herein are thermally stable and volatile enough to form thin films for the photoactive layer of an OPV device by vacuum deposition or by spin-coating.

Carbo- and heterocyclic spiro compounds as donor materials for organic photovoltaics and their preparation

In one embodiment, the present invention provides a class of luminescent gold(III) compounds containing a tridentate ligand with one strong &#x3c3;-donating group. The present invention also provides methods for synthesizing these compounds, as well as uses of these compounds as electrophosphorescent materials in phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) to provide electroluminescence (EL).
