A method for LBT failure detection performed by a UE is provided. The method includes: receiving, by a MAC entity of the UE, an LBT failure indication from a lower layer for all UL transmissions; increasing an LBT failure counter when the MAC entity receives the LBT failure indication; determining an LBT failure event occurs when the LBT failure counter is greater than or equal to a threshold; and resetting the LBT failure counter after the MAC entity has not received the LBT failure indication for a time period.

Method and apparatus for LBT failure detection

A User Equipment (UE) and a method performed by the UE for multi-connectivity are provided. The method includes receiving, from a Master Cell Group (MCG), a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message comprising at least one Secondary Cell Group (SCG) Data Radio Bearer (DRB) configuration; starting a first timer upon receiving the first RRC message; and stopping the first timer when one of a plurality of conditions is satisfied, wherein the plurality of conditions include: transmitting an RRC reestablishment request message to the MCG; transmitting an SCG Failure Information message to the MCG before the first timer expires; and successfully adding an SCG based on the at least one SCG DRB configuration.

Method and apparatus for performing paging monitoring in radio access networks

A method for requesting a target system information block (SIB) associated with a target service is provided. The method initiates a dedicated SIB request procedure to send, to a serving cell, a request for the target SIB. The method initiates the dedicated SIB request procedure while the UE has stored at least one SIB segment of a plurality of SIB segments associated with the target SIB, and before the target SIB is successfully assembled based on the plurality of SIB segments. The method transmits, to the serving cell, the request for the target SIB to the serving cell and upon the transmission of the request starts a timer, where a second dedicated SIB request procedure is not allowed to be initiated while the timer is running.

Dedicated system information block request

A method for monitoring paging is provided. The method is performed by a user equipment (UE) and includes actions of receiving a first Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) addressed to a first Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI), and stopping monitoring a second PDCCH addressed to a second RNTI if the first PDCCH includes a paging stop indicator, where the second RNTI is the same as the first RNTI.

The acceptable cell fulfills a minimum set of requirements to initiate an emergency call and to receive one or more Earthquake & Tsunami Warning System (ETWS) and Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) notifications. The suitable cell provides normal services. The acceptable cell provides limited services.

Method and apparatus for RRC state transition

A method for a user equipment (UE) for cell selection while the UE is in a radio resource control (RRC) Inactive state is provided. The method receives, via control signaling, a configuration indicating a target frequency carrier and a corresponding target core network (CN) type. The method then causes the UE to transition from an RRC Connected state to the RRC Inactive state based on the received configuration. While the UE is in the RRC Inactive state, the method selects a suitable cell among a plurality of suitable cells that are associated with the target frequency carrier. The method selects the suitable cell irrespective of the received target CN type.

Cell prioritization for cell (re)selection in wireless communication systems

A method performed by a BS for CHO is provided. The method includes transmitting a CHO command to a UE, the CHO command including a CHO command ID and a measurement ID associated with the CHO command ID; causing the UE to execute the CHO command to handover to a target BS when a trigger condition associated with the measurement ID is fulfilled; causing the UE to forgo transmitting the measurement report during the execution of the CHO command despite the UE being configured, via a report configuration associated with the measurement ID, to transmit the measurement report; transmitting, to the UE, a message that causes the UE to remove the CHO command; and after transmitting the message to the UE, determining that the report configuration is removed by the UE without transmitting, to the UE, an instruction to remove the report configuration.

A method for acquiring system information (SI) performed by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes performing a first set of operations after determining that the UE is in a radio resource control (RRC)_CONNECTED state with an active bandwidth part (BWP) not configured with a common search space (CSS) with a field searchSpaceOtherSystemInformation; and performing a second set of operations after determining that the UE is in the RRC_CONNECTED state with the active BWP configured with the CSS with the field searchSpaceOtherSystemInformation. The first set of operations includes: transmitting a first RRC message to request a required system information block (SIB) and starting a timer; and receiving, from the cell, an RRCReconfiguration message including the required SIB. The second set of operations includes: transmitting the first RRC message to request the required SIB and starting the timer; and monitoring the CSS to acquire the required SIB.

A method of performing a closed access group (CAG) selection in a non-public network (NPN) for a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving, from a CAG cell, a first indication and a CAG identity via a System Information Block 1 (SIB1), reporting, by an Access Stratum (AS) layer of the UE, to a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) layer of the UE, the first indication and the CAG identity when a request from the NAS layer is received, and performing a cell selection or reselection procedure according to the CAG identity, wherein the first indication is associated with the CAG identity and indicates that the CAG identity is allowed to be selected manually even if the CAG identity is not included in an allowed CAG list of the UE.

A UE for performing mobility management is disclosed. The UE includes at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions, and at least one processor coupled to the at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium, and configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to: transmit, to a first network node, a RRC message indicating a required network slice/service of the UE, the required network slice/service uniquely identified by S-NSSAI; receive, from the first network node, a second RRC message including information of a second network node that supports the required network slice/service of the UE when the required network slice/service identified by the S-NSSAI is not supported by the first network node; and perform a mobility management procedure based on the information of the second network node received from the first network node when the required network slice/service is not supported by the first network node.
