In one embodiment the system includes a processor; and a computer-readable non-transitory storage medium, the medium encoded with instructions that when executed cause the processor to perform operations including receiving video of a video capture region from a camera coupled to an unmanned vehicle; obtaining a map representation of the video capture region; placing the virtual object into the map representation; rendering the video with the virtual object to generate a rendered video; displaying the rendered video; and based on an elevation of the unmanned vehicle, updating the virtual object to transition between a top view of the virtual object and an elevation view or perspective view of the virtual object.

Systems and methods for real-time compositing of video content

A window in a multi-window display configuration is provided. A gaze of one or more users is directed at the window. The multi-window display configuration has a plurality of windows that are each configured to display corresponding content. Further, a window attribute of the window is modified based upon the gaze. In addition, a request for the content corresponding to the window is sent to a server. The content corresponding to the window is received from the server. The content corresponding to the window is then displayed according to the modified window attribute at the window.

Adaptive multi-window configuration based upon gaze tracking

A process generates a certificate of authenticity for a virtual item. Further, the process sends, with the processor, the certificate of authenticity to a decentralized network of computing devices such that two or more of the computing devices store the certificate of authenticity. The two or more of the computing devices receive, from a user device that provides a virtual reality experience in which a virtual item is purchased, a request for authentication of the certificate of authenticity. In addition, the two or more computing devices authenticate the certificate of authenticity based on one or more consistency criteria for the certificate of authenticity being met by the two or more computing devices.

Techniques for personalized gamification of media content. An engagement level of a consumer is identified based on prior gamification data. A difficulty level is identified using machine learning based on the engagement level. A content element personalized for the consumer is generated based on biographical information or viewing habits. A multimedia content scene found by the consumer is analyzed to determine whether the multimedia content scene has an association with the content element and whether the consumer has accessed the multimedia content element scene.

Methods and systems for personalized gamification of media content

Systems and methods for providing machine-learning enabled user-specific evaluations are disclosed. Implementations include obtaining a first set of evaluation data from a user interface, obtaining a first set of target-descriptive data including target-specific characteristics objectively describing the evaluation targets, and training, with a machine-learning algorithm, a user-specific evaluation profile indicating evaluation patterns relative to the first set of evaluation data and the first set of target-specific characteristics. Implementations include applying the user-specific evaluation profile to a second set of target-descriptive data to predict a user-specific evaluation.

Systems and methods for increasing consumer engagement with a multimedia content distribution system through the use of temporal metadata and gamification techniques. Personalized game-like tasks are created, whereby a consumer is enticed to find and access multimedia content containing a specific content element, or 'easter egg,' to earn a reward. The specific content element may be identifiable based on temporal metadata tags associated with multimedia content available within the multimedia content distribution system. To further increase the probability of consumer engagement, the easter egg may be personalized based on data unique to the consumer, such as consumer preferences, viewing habits, and previous engagement level with the multimedia content.

The disclosure is directed to providing operator visibility through an object that occludes the view of the operator by using a HMD system in communication with one or more imaging devices. A method of doing so may include: using one or more imaging devices coupled to an exterior of an object to capture image data of a real-world environment surrounding the object: calculating an orientation of a HMD positioned in an interior of the object; using at least the calculated orientation of the HMD, synthesizing a FOV of the image data with a FOV of the HMD; and rendering the synthesized FOV of the image data to the HMD. In some instances, the captured image data is used to create a three-dimensional model of the real-world environment, and synthesizing the FOV of the image data includes synthesizing a FOV of the 3D model with the FOV of the HMD.

Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for compositing real-time, real-world video with virtual objects. An electronic device includes circuitry coupled to a memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the circuitry to receive video of a given video capture region. The circuitry is caused to receive location information and camera information from the unmanned vehicle. The circuitry is caused to obtain a representation of a location of interest corresponding to the location of the unmanned vehicle. The circuitry is caused to display the representation. The circuitry is caused to obtain virtual objects. The circuitry is caused to place the virtual objects into the representation. The circuitry is caused to render the virtual objects and the video to generate a rendered video including rendered virtual objects in at least one frame of the video. The circuitry is caused to send the rendered video.

Systems and methods are described for placing large objects and objects separated by large distances in an AR environment. An AR headset system may place and generate digital objects using relative geographical coordinates (e.g., latitude, longitude, and altitude) between the user's current position and the object being placed. In one implementation, a digital object's geographical coordinates may be calculated by determining a user's geographical coordinates, using a distance determination device to measure a distance to a boundary in the user's real-world environment within an AR headset's field of view, and calculating an orientation of the AR headset relative to the user's position. In another implementation, a digital object's geographical coordinates may be calculated by determining the user's geographical coordinates, calculating an orientation of the AR headset relative to the user's position, and receiving input at a user input device specifying at what distance to place and generate a digital object.

Placing large objects and objects separated by large distances in augmented reality

The disclosure is directed toward stabilizing an image projected by a projector in an environment including vibrations or other movements that displace the projected image. In one set of implementations, an image projected by a projector may be stabilized by using an image stabilization system that detects a displacement of the projector from an equilibrium position and controls an optical element of the projector to offset the displacement. In an additional set of implementations, an image projected by the projector may be stabilized by using an image stabilization system that measures a rate of displacement from equilibrium of an image projected by the projector to predict a displacement of the projector and counteract the predicted displacement. In another set of implementations, an image projected by a projector may be stabilized by precalculating a plurality of lookup tables that correct for displacements of the projected image during operation of the projector.

Method for dampening projector vibration

The present disclosure is directed to presenting a more realistic augmented reality view on a video see-through display of a device by configuring the device such that the displayed image of the real world substantially matches what would be perceived by the user if the display were not present. This may be implemented by determining one or more of: a distance from the user's eyes to the display of the device, and an angular offset between the optical axis of a rear camera of the device and the user's visual field, and using the determined distance and/or angular offset to adjust the image that is displayed to the user. The image that is displayed to the user may be adjusted by optically or digitally zooming the rear camera of the device. It may also be adjusted by tilting the rear camera or by digitally translating the displayed video feed.

According to one implementation, a system for validating media content includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing a media content validation software code. The hardware processor is configured to execute the media content validation software code to search the media content for a geometrically encoded metadata structure. When the geometrically encoded metadata structure is detected, the hardware processor is further configured to execute the media content validation software code to identify an original three-dimensional (3D) geometry of the detected geometrically encoded metadata structure, to extract metadata from the detected geometrically encoded metadata structure, decode the metadata extracted from the detected geometrically encoded metadata structure based on the identified original 3D geometry, and obtain a validation status of the media content based on the decoded metadata.

There are provided systems and methods for performing image compensation using image enhancement effects. In one implementation, such a system includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a memory storing an image compensation software code. The hardware processor is configured to execute the image compensation software code to receive image data corresponding to an event being viewed by a viewer in a venue, the image data obtained by a wearable augmented reality (AR) device worn by the viewer, and to detect a deficiency in an image included in the image data. The hardware processor is further configured to execute the image compensation software code to generate one or more image enhancement effect(s) for compensating for the deficiency in the image and to output the image enhancement effect(s) for rendering on a display of the wearable AR device while the viewer is viewing the event.

An air flow generator may be implemented on an augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) controller or head-mounted display (HMD) through which an AR or VR experience is presented. Based on content upon which the AR or VR experience is based, air flow effects can be provided by the air flow generator. In particular, desired air flow effect parameters based on or obtained from the content, can be used to enhance the AR or VR experience through generating air flow directed at a user of the HMD. The air flow generated by the air flow generator can be further enhanced by the addition of liquid and/or scented additives.
