The technology disclosed herein provides a blockchain transactions forwarding mechanism that allows for tracking and notification from the originating blockchain through to a last blockchain and back again. An implementation of the system disclosed herein also provides a whitelist mechanism to provide a list of acceptable blockchains or nodes that may receive transactions. Yet another implementation provides a predetermined hop count that may be used as the maximum allowable hop counts that provides the number of times a transaction is allowed to be forwarded.

Blockchain transaction forwarding

Apparatus and method for distributed authentication in a data storage system using block chain technology. In some embodiments, a requested transaction is generated to perform a selected security operation upon a data processing device in a computer network. The requested transaction is validated and propagated to a plurality of nodes. The nodes use a consensus mechanism to quasi-randomly select a particular node to generate a new block listing the requested transaction. The new block is validated, propagated among the plurality of nodes, and added to a block chain data structure. A processing node processes the requested transaction from the block chain data structure to authorize the selected security operation. Credits may be debited and credited between requesting nodes and the processing node for each transaction. Different types of credits may be used for different types of security operations.

Block chain based trusted security infrastructure

Systems or methods can be used to detect evidence of tampering. The tampering can be physical tampering, such as the turning of a screw, or removal or modification of an electronic component. In some examples, a tamper detection value can be determined from a tamper detection device and compared to a predetermined tamper detection value to determine if tampering is indicated. The system can, upon detection of the tampering, halt an operation, disable device or circuit functionality, disable future operations, physically disable a device, or any combination thereof.
