A cardiac monitoring system that automatically determines whether one or more electrodes are placed at wrong positions on a person's body includes an ECG monitor. The electrodes are connected to the ECG monitor wirelessly or by wire. Each electrode includes a position code that corresponds to a body location where the electrode is to be placed. The signals that are transmitted from each electrode include the position code assigned to the electrode. The profile of the signals received from the electrodes are compared with expected profile of the signals from the electrodes that are placed at each specific position on the body. The position code in the transmitted data of any electrode that is determined to be placed at a wrong position is automatically replaced with the position code corresponding to the electrodes' actual position. The leads are then determined based on the electrode signals and the electrodes' position codes.

A communication system includes a plurality of edge devices comprising a first edge device. The first edge device fires a plurality of first beams from a donor antenna array based on different first beam indexes and fires a plurality of second beams from one or more relay antenna arrays based on different second beam indexes. The first edge device measures signal strength of each fired beam, identifies a donor beam index and one or more relay beam indexes based on the measured signal strengths exceeding a threshold, establishes a first communication link to an upstream neighboring node based on the identified donor beam index, creates one or more second communication links to one or more downstream neighboring nodes based on the identified relay beam indexes, and creates a mesh network of the plurality of edge devices based on the established communication links.

Communication system and method for operating a 5G mesh network for service continuity

An optical antenna apparatus, which has an input end, includes a lens, and the input end receives one or more incoming optical signals from one or more optical fibers. An output end of the optical antenna apparatus includes a prism at a distance from the lens, and the one or more incoming optical signals pass through the lens to the prism to form one or more free-space optical beams for free-space optical communication. The optical antenna apparatus includes control circuitry and an electro-mechanical arrangement operatively coupled with the lens and the prism. The control circuitry controls the electro-mechanical arrangement to calibrate a position of each of the lens and the prism in the optical antenna apparatus such that each of the lens and the prism is moved back and forth for adjustment of at least one beam parameter of the one or more free-space optical beams.

A virtual fiber communication system includes a central cloud server that obtains telemetry information from network nodes of wireless backhaul mesh network. The telemetry information includes spectrum occupancy information and UE positioning information. The central cloud server obtains, via blockchain-based spectrum broker nodes, frequency spectrum availability metadata and custom-defined spectrum access parameters of spectrum owner nodes. The central cloud server detects spectrum availability variations across network nodes and determines different routing paths for the first type of UEs designated as premium users. Based on the detected spectrum availability variations across the network nodes and the determined different routing paths, control signals are generated and communicated to the network nodes to assign data streams onto rented or leased spectrum frequencies. One of the determined routing paths is selected for delivery of the data streams to the first type of UEs to meet the custom-defined spectrum access parameters.

At least some of the fluidic channels have a slanted shape to maximize emptying the contents of the IV bag as the fluid is injected to the patient's vein. The system includes a pump that moves the fluid into a tube and a needle that is connected to a person's vein. The processor repeatedly turns the pump on or off to gradually transfer the fluid from the IV bag into the person's vein. The processor controls the delivery of the fluid based on the patient's biometric data and/or hand movements as measured by the fluid delivery device.
