Various embodiments relate to compositions for use in endoluminal devices and to methods of using compositions in endoluminal devices. The compositions include two parts, a first part including a first solution and a second part including a second solution, wherein the first solution comprises one or more pre-polymers, a non-aqueous solvent, a polymerization co-initiator or initiator and optionally one or more chain extenders and additives, and the second solution comprises a polymerization initiator or co-initiator, a non-aqueous solvent and optionally one or more chain extenders and additives.

Endoluminal device and polymer

The present invention provides a dry powder that is suitable for use in forming a hydrogel and characterized by a stable composition at ambient conditions. The dry powder includes a prepolymer including a straight chain polyethylene glycol, and a thermally activated free radical initiator selected from the group consisting of sodium persulfate, potassium persulfate, and ammonium persulfate. The present invention also provides a method of forming the dry powder, and a method of preparing a hydrogel where a reaction mixture is formed including the dry powder and a buffered aqueous solution.

Method for forming hydrogels and materials therefor

This invention relates to copolymer compositions of poly(vinylidene fluoride-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene) copolymers. The copolymers formed have excellent optical properties, corrosion resistance and electrical properties, with very low haze. Tetrafluoropropene monomer units may be present at from 0.5 to 60 weight percent of the copolymer.

An adapter for coupling a compule with a dental handpiece including a piston. The compule contains a dental material. The adapter includes a coupling portion that defines openings for attaching the adapter to the compule and for attaching the adapter to the dental handpiece. A plunger portion extends through one opening and engages the piston. A breakable tab connects the coupling portion and the plunger portion and breaks during dispensing of the material. The plunger portion is then movable relative to the coupling portion. A tip for use with the dental handpiece includes a housing that defines a chamber. A needle extends from the housing and defines a lumen having an opening from which the dental material is dispensed. A plunger slides within the chamber to push the dental material through the lumen and includes a rib that seals the plunger against the chamber during sliding movement of the plunger.

The invention relates to a copolymer composition of poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoropropene) copolymers. The copolymers formed have excellent optical properties, with very low haze, as well as high melting points, excellent flexibility and toughness.

The invention relates to methods of polymerizing fluoromonomers using non-fluorinated surfactants, in particular to emulsion polymerization method for producing fluoropolymer latex. Specifically, the method of polymerization uses one or more alkyl sulfate surfactants.

A fluoropolymer latex is obtained by emulsion polymerization of one or more fluoromonomers in the presence of one or more acid-functionalized monomers such as vinyl sulfonic acid or a salt thereof. A fluorosurfactant need not be present.

Method of producing fluoropolymers using acid-functionalized monomers

A novel aqueous polymerization process for making fluoropolymer dispersions is disclosed in which non-ionic non-fluorinated emulsifier is used to produce fluoropolymer emulsions. The emulsifiers contain blocks of polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol and/or polytetramethylene glycol. The process and fluoropolymer produced contain no fluorinated surfactant. The fluoropolymers have excellent resistance to discoloration.

Aqueous process for making fluoropolymers

The present invention relates to a method for the polymerization in an aqueous medium of monomers, and especially of fluoromonomers, using non-fluorinated surfactants; and the fluoropolymers formed therefrom. Specifically, the method of the polymerization uses one or more non-fluorinated surfactants selected from the group consisting of polyvinylphosphonic acid, polyacrylic acids, polyvinyl sulfonic acid, and salts thereof. Additionally, the use of polyvinylphosphonic acid, polyacrylic acids, polyvinyl sulfonic acid as surfactants in aqueous free radical polymerization is also novel.

Polymerization of fluoropolymers using non-fluorinated surfactants

The present invention relates to a method for the polymerization of fluoromonomers using non-fluorinated alkyl phosphonate surfactants, and to the fluoropolymers formed thereby. Specifically, the method of the polymerization uses one or more alkyl phosphonic acids or salts thereof.

Polymerization of fluoropolymers using alkyl phosphonate surfactants

The present invention relates to the preparation of a fluoropolymer exhibiting improved whiteness upon fabrication. The fluoropolymer is a multiphase copolymer or blend of fluropolymers. Fluoropolymer compositions of this invention could have application in both melt processing and solvent casting operations for such products as pipes, tubes, sheets, rods, solvent-casted and melt-processed films.

Nonfluorinated surfactants selected from C7&#x2013;C20 linear 1-alkanesulfonates, 2-alkanesulfones, and 1,2-alkanedisulfones are particularly effective for stabilizing emulsions in preparing non-elastomeric fluoropolymers containing at least 71 wt % vinylidene fluoride and having at least a 2% crystalline polyvinylidene fluoride content. Processes for making such fluoropolymers using these surfactants, particularly in combination with one or both of a nonionic polymerization initiator and the use of mechanical coagulation to isolate the product, are also provided, as are fluoropolymers made thereby.
