Method of performing a random access procedure between a User Equipment, UE, and a radio access network, wherein two access nodes comprise different sets of signature sequences, wherein said signature sequences are used, by said access nodes, to differentiate requests coming from different UEs, said method comprising the steps of receiving a random access request from said UE, wherein said random access request comprises a signature sequence, determining that said random access request is intended for said first radio access node based on said signature sequence comprised by said request, receiving, from a second access node, said random access request, thereby indicating that said second radio access node has also received said random access request from said UE, and sending a response based on said received random access request from said UE and based on said random access request received from said second radio access node.

Method and devices of performing a random access procedure between a user equipment, UE, and a radio access network of a telecommunication network

A method of allocating reference signals for determining radio link quality, in a source node, the method triggering or comprising the steps of: Transmitting to a candidate node information about at least one reference signal allocated for transmission in at least one beam controlled by the source node and/or information about one or more reference signals eligible to be allocated for a transmission in at least one beam controlled by the candidate node.

Methods may be provided to operate a wireless terminal UE in a wireless communication network. Responsive to receiving a request for a primary identification of a non-serving base station for the wireless terminal, transmission to the non-serving base station for the wireless terminal may be initiated using a random access channel RACH configuration. A random access response RAR may be received from the non-serving base station. Moreover, the random access response may be received with the primary identification of the non-serving base station, and the random access response may be responsive to the transmission using the RACH configuration. The primary identification of the non-serving base station may be transmitted to a node of the wireless communication network other than the non-serving base station.

Methods providing primary identifications of base stations and related wireless terminals and base stations

Methods, nodes and arrangements for supporting identification of one or more neighboring network nodes comprised in a wireless communication network. A communication device is associated with a communicative connection to a first network node, e.g. a serving base station. The communication device obtains a first identifier identifying the first network node, and transmits the obtained first identifier in an uplink so that the first identifier is receivable by one or more other, second network nodes, e.g. non-serving base stations. Receipt of the first identifier by a second network node enables identification of the first radio network node as neighboring said second radio network node. The second network node obtains, based on the first identifier, an address of the first network node, and/or a second identifier uniquely identifying the first network node, in the wireless communication network.

Support of mobility for a communication device () being served in a serving beam () transmitted by a first network node () comprised in a wireless communication network (). The first network node () and the communication device () obtains () a first information set comprising predetermined identifiers identifying reference signals, respectively. Identification of network nodes (-) of a first Radio Access Technology, 'RAT', and of a wireless communication network (), which network nodes (-) are at least potentially neighboring each other. Multiple information sets associated with multiple communication devices (-), respectively, are obtained (-). Each communication device (-) supports both the first RAT and another, second RAT. Each information set, thus associated with a communication device (), identifies a network node () of the first RAT, and one or more network nodes () of the second RAT that have been identified by the communication device () when the communication device () was associated with a communicative connection to said identified network node () of the first RAT. Identification of potentially neighboring network nodes in a wireless communication network

A method performed by a first radio network node for handling mobility of a wireless device in a wireless communication network. The first radio network node provides radio coverage over a first service area using a first reference signal for identifying the first service area in the wireless communication network. A second radio network node provides radio coverage over a second service area using a second reference signal for identifying the second service area in the wireless communication network. The first radio network node receives a measurement report from the second radio network node, which measurement report indicates a second signal strength or quality of a second dedicated beam used for data transmission for wireless devices in the second service area. The first radio network node performs a mobility decision for the wireless device taking the second signal strength or quality, indicated in the received measurement report, into account.

Wireless device, radio network nodes, and methods performed therein for handling mobility in a wireless communication network

Network nodes (), control node () and methods therein, for enabling establishment of a neighbor relation between a first network node () and a second network node () in a wireless network. The control node () sends () or distributes, to network nodes in the network including the first network node (), a set of reference signals reserved for neighbor relation establishment. The second network node () transmits () one of the reserved reference signals which is then detected by a wireless device (D) being served by the first network node () which then receives (), from the wireless device (D), a measurement report indicating the detected reference signal that is recognized by the first network node () as belonging to the set of reserved reference signals. The first network node () can then identify () the second network node (), based on the reserved reference signal in the measurement report, and establishes () a neighbor relation with the identified second network node ().

Methods and nodes for establishing a neighbor relation in a wireless network

A method in a base station () for enabling the base station () to identify a neighboring base station () is provided. A request is being sent () to a user equipment (), commanding it to send an identification requesting message to the neighboring base station (). In response to reception of the sent identification requesting message, a neighboring base station identifier that is associated with and identifies the neighboring base station (), is received (). Thereby the base station () is enabled to identify the neighboring base station (). By receipt of the neighboring base station identifier, the base station becomes aware of and is enabled to contact, or connect with, the neighboring base station more directly, without the need of doing it through the user equipment. This can be done at some later point in time, for example in order to request the neighboring base station to perform handover measurements with regard to the same or another user equipment.

Methods and arrangements for identifying a neighbouring base station

A method in a radio network node is disclosed for handling positioning data in a radio communications network, which radio network node serves a user equipment in a cell. The radio network node obtains positioning data from the user equipment, which positioning data is associated with a positioning measurement for positioning the user equipment. The radio network node associates the obtained positioning data with an on-going trace session of the user equipment. The radio network node then sends a trace record to a network management node, which trace record includes information associated with the positioning data.

Methods, arrangement and network nodes for supporting inter-cell coordination of scheduling of radio resources subjected to inter cell interference. The methods involve identifying one or more radio resources which are subjected to inter-cell interference between a first cell and a second cell. The methods further involve deriving a respective service value related to service that could be provided in the respective first and second cell by use of the one or more radio resources. Further, transmissions in the one or more radio resources are controlled based on comparison of the service values, thus enabling inter-cell service value-based scheduling of the one or more radio resources, prioritizing services having the highest value per radio resource.

The present invention relates to a method and a communication network node for enabling automatic optimization of a random access preamble format usage in a communication network system. The network comprises the communication network node serving at least one cell to which user equipments are accessing. A random access preamble format is set for each cell and comprises a random access sequence length, T, and a random access preamble cyclic prefix length, T. First, the random access sequence length, Tis selected and then the random access preamble cyclic prefix length, T CP is selected. Based on the selected random access sequence length, T SEQ and random access preamble cyclic prefix length, T, which random access preamble format to use in said cell is selected.
