An exhaust treatment device includes first and second substrates positioned in parallel within a housing. A baffle plate supports the substrates, an inlet tube and an outlet pipe, and defines a portion of a first chamber. First ends of the substrates and a second end of the inlet tube is in fluid communication with the first chamber. A partition supports the substrates, the inlet tube and the outlet pipe and defines a portion of a second chamber separate from first chamber. Second ends of the substrates and a second open end of the outlet pipe is in fluid communication with the second chamber. All of the exhaust flows in a first direction through the inlet tube, reverses direction through the substrates and reverses direction again to flow through the outlet pipe.

Tri-flow exhaust treatment device with reductant mixing tube

An exhaust treatment component for treating an engine exhaust including a housing including an inlet and an outlet. A mixing device is located within the housing between the inlet and the outlet, and the mixing device includes a shell communicating with the outlet, a decomposition tube having a first end and a second end, and a flow reversing device disposed proximate the second end. The first end extends from the shell and is configured to receive the exhaust from the inlet, and is configured to receive a reagent exhaust treatment fluid. The second end is positioned within the shell. The flow reversing device is configured to direct a mixture of the exhaust and reagent exhaust treatment fluid in predetermined directions into the shell, the flow reversing device reverses a flow direction of the exhaust back towards the first end of the decomposition tube.

An exhaust treatment device includes an inlet tube having an end in communication with a cavity within a housing. An exhaust treatment component for treating engine exhaust is positioned within the housing. A metal mounting member includes a mounting provision. A retaining plate is engaged with the metal mounting member and fixed to the housing to retain the mounting member between the housing and the retaining plate.

Exhaust treatment device with integral mount

An exhaust treatment device includes an inner shell spaced apart from an outer shell by a first gap. An inlet assembly includes a first inner cap and a first outer cap spaced apart by a second gap. An outlet assembly includes a second inner cap and a second outer cap spaced apart from each other by a third gap. A substrate is located within the inner shell. An insulating mat is positioned between the substrate and the inner shell and includes a reduced diameter portion compressing the insulating mat between the inner shall and the substrate. Insulation material fills the first, second and third gaps that are in communication with each other.

An exhaust treatment device includes an inner shell, an outer shell and insulation material positioned between the inner shell and the outer shell. An inlet tube has an end in communication with a cavity defined by the inner shell. A substrate for treating engine exhaust is positioned within the inner shell. A baffle plate includes a plurality of apertures positioned such that the exhaust passes through the apertures prior to entering the substrate. The baffle plate supports an end of the inner shell and the inlet tube.

An exhaust treatment device includes an insulation material positioned between an inner shell and an outer shell. An inlet tube has an end in communication with a cavity defined by the inner shell. A substrate for treating engine exhaust is positioned within the inner shell. A metal mounting ring is positioned between the inner and outer shells and includes a mounting provision for receipt of a fastener.

An exhaust gas treatment device includes an inlet housing having an inlet opening for receipt of an exhaust flow from an engine aligned along a first axis. A main housing includes a cylindrical body portion defining a treatment zone and an exhaust outlet aligned along a second axis extending parallel to the first axis. The inlet housing is in fluid communication with and fixed to an outer surface of the main housing. The inlet housing includes a contoured wall including an end portion positioned opposite the inlet opening, an aperture extending through the wall transverse to the first axis, divergent side wall portions on opposite sides of the inlet opening, and a necked portion having a reduced cross-section positioned downstream of the inlet opening and upstream of the aperture. A component is coupled to the main housing for treating exhaust flowing through the treatment zone.
