A device for the fragmentation of DNA samples. The DNA samples are in solution in a container the device including &#x2014;a vessel for receiving a liquid, the vessel being configured to produce ultrasonic waves so as to spread ultrasonic waves through the liquid. The device further includes a first support element resting on the vessel, the device further includes a second support element having a passage designed to receive the container. The second support element can be suspended by at least one suspension element forming at least one joint, such that a lower portion of the container can be immersed in the liquid.
