A reciprocating mechanism for a spinning reel includes a first gear, a second gear, a slider, and an annular elastic body. The first gear is configured to rotate in accordance with rotation of a handle shaft. The second gear includes a gear body configured to mesh with the first gear and a boss protruding from the gear body. The slider has an engagement groove where the boss engages. The slider is configured to move a spool shaft in a front-rear direction as the boss moves along the engagement groove. The annular elastic body is attached to the boss so as to contact an open end of the engagement groove.

Reciprocating mechanism for spinning reel and spinning reel having the same

A handle assembly of a spinning reel is configured to be integrally rotatable with a drive shaft of the spinning reel. The handle assembly includes a shaft member, a handle arm, a tubular member, and an annular elastic member. The shaft member is configured to be integrally rotatable with the drive shaft. The handle arm is coupled to the shaft member. The tubular member is disposed between the drive shaft and the handle arm on the outer periphery of the shaft member in order to position the handle arm with respect to the drive shaft. The annular elastic member is disposed between the shaft member and the tubular member in order to regulate the tubular member from falling off the shaft member.

A ratchet wheel is provided for a fishing reel (e.g., a spinning reel or a dual-bearing reel). The ratchet wheel is mounted onto a first component of the fishing reel. The ratchet wheel being engagable with a claw member pivotally mounted to a second component of the fishing reel. The second component is configured to be rotatable relatively to the first component. The ratchet wheel has a mounting part and a plurality of teeth. The mounting part is configured to be mounted onto the first component. The teeth are radially disposed on one of an outer peripheral portion of the mounting part and an inner peripheral portion of the mounting part. The teeth extend from the one of the outer and inner peripheral portions. The teeth are configured such that two adjacent ones of the teeth selectively engage the claw member.

Ratchet wheel for fishing reel

A spinning reel drag knob screwed onto a distal end of a spool shaft has a knob member, a nut member and a sealing member. The knob member presses a drag washer of a drag mechanism, and includes a circular rimmed portion and a cylindrical outer periphery. The rimmed portion has a knob portion on a front surface of the rimmed portion to regulate drag force. The outer periphery is formed on a back side of the rimmed portion. The nut member is disposed in the knob member and is unitarily rotatable with the knob member. The sealing member includes an attachment portion, a first sealing portion, and a second sealing portion. The attachment portion is attached to the outer periphery. The first sealing portion contacts an inner peripheral surface of the spool, and the second sealing portion makes contact with a radial outward part of the back side.
