A circular polarized penta-band antenna device and a method for fabricating the antenna device are provided. The antenna device includes: a substrate; a primary L-band antenna formed on the substrate; and a plurality of secondary antennas formed on a top surface of the L-band antenna. The plurality of secondary antennas includes: an X-band antenna; a K-bandantenna; a K-bandantenna; and a Ka-band antenna. Each of the X-band, K-band, K-band, and Ka-band antennas has a corner-truncated patch structure configured to generate left-hand circular polarization (LHCP). Each of the antennas operates simultaneously to enable multi-band communication and a shared aperture is formed across all antennas.

Penta-band aperture shared antenna and methods of fabricating the same

An extremely wideband reconfigurable antenna system is provided, including a plurality of planar inverted-F antennas, operating in a frequency range of 0.5 GHz to 4 GHz; a plurality of square patch antennas, operating in a frequency range of 4 GHz to 10 GHz; a plurality of circular patch antennas, operating in a frequency range of 10 GHz to 40 GHz; a plurality of multilayer stacked-up folded antennas, operating in a frequency range of 40 GHz to 110 GHz; a plurality of square patch antennas including a plurality of Jerusalem cross elements, operating in a frequency range of 110 GHz to 170 GHz; and a plurality of subarrays of horn-like tapered slot antennas, operating in a frequency range of 170 GHz to 300 GHz.

Multiband antenna system

Dual-band antenna systems and methods of fabricating and using the same are provided. A tunable dual-polarization (left-hand circular polarized (LHCP) and right-hand circular polarized (RHCP)) antenna can be used both for L-band (1.215 gigahertz (GHz)-1.85 GHz) and Ka-band (32.3 GHz-34.2 GHz) operation. The antenna system can be an embedded antenna system, which can be used for 3U CubeSats, with full polarization diversity able to operate in two widely spaced frequency bands (L-band and Ka-band) of the spectrum. The antenna system can include three layers, including a top substrate, a bottom substrate, and a ground plane disposed between the top substrate and the bottom substrate.
