A zinc (Zn) ion hybrid supercapacitor (ZIHSC) in the form of an electrochemical cell includes a Zn nanosheets electrodeposited metal substrate (Zn ED-MS) as an anode, and a jute activated carbon coated conductive carbon substrate (the JAC-CCS) as a cathode, an electrolyte including an aqueous solution of Zn salt at a concentration of 0.05 to 5 molars (M), and a membrane as a separator.

Zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitor and methods of preparation thereof

The present invention includes an asymmetric supercapacitor that includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode, an aqueous electrolyte, and a separator. The negative electrode includes a first fluorine-doped tin oxide glass substrate having a first coated surface including a date leaves derived carbon and a first polymer. The asymmetric supercapacitor includes a positive electrode including a second fluorine-doped tin oxide glass substrate having a bismuth vanadate layer. The bismuth vanadate layer is coated with a second composition including the date leaves derived carbon and a second polymer. The separator is located between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and the electrolyte is present in and on the separator.

Light-responsive supercapacitor based on date leaves derived carbon and BIVOphotocapacitive electrodes

An electrode including a substrate, a binding compound, and a composite. The composite includes jute-activated carbon and a nickel-cobalt-layered double hydroxide (NiCoLDH). Particles of the NiCoLDH are in the form of nanoflowers with an average size of 5-15 μm. The nanoflowers comprise nanosheets with an average thickness of 5-20 nm. The particles of the jute-activated carbon are in the form of interconnected nanosheets, which form a porous carbon framework. The porous carbon framework connects the nanoflowers, thereby forming an interconnected structure in the composite. A mixture of the composite and the binding compound is coated on the surface of the substrate. The electrode can be included in supercapacitors and power banks.

Solid-state hybrid supercapacitor with nickel-cobalt-layered double hydroxide nanoflowers supported on jute stick-derived activated carbon nanosheets

An anticorrosive nanocomposite is described. The anticorrosive nanocomposite includes a cured epoxy and jute carbon. The jute carbon is in the form of flakes. The flakes have a particle size of 0.05-15 micrometers (μm). Particles of the jute carbon are dispersed in the cured epoxy. A method of preparing the jute carbon is also described.

Anticorrosive nanocomposite

A glass-ceramic material includes an oxynitride glass with a chemical formula CaAlSiOsNand zinc oxide. The zinc oxide is present in an amount of 8 to 16 percent by weight based on the total weight of the glass-ceramic material. The zinc oxide is doped in the oxynitride glass. The glass-ceramic material has one or more conductive channels having a length of 100 to 1000 μm and a width of 0.5 to 10 μm.

Development of oxynitride glass-ceramics preparations and uses thereof

A hybrid supercapacitor comprising: an electrolyte; a carbon-based electrode including jute stick activated carbon; and, a pseudocapacitive electrode is described. The pseudocapacitive electrode comprises a first metallic substrate and a composite material disposed on the first metallic substrate. The composite material comprises a matrix of polyaniline (PANI) in which clustered nanorods of a-FeOare dispersed. The PANI exhibits an orthorhombic CHN phase, as identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The a-FeOnanorods have a median volume particle size (Dv50) ranging from approximately 10 nanometers (nm) to 1000 nm, as determined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Polyaniline-iron (PANI/Fe) based hybrid supercapacitor and a method of producing the pseudocapacitive electrode thereof

The present disclosure provides an asymmetric supercapacitor that includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode, an ionic liquid electrolyte, and a separator. The negative electrode includes a tomato leaf activated carbon having a hierarchical porosity disposed on a first carbon cloth. The positive electrode includes a polyaniline disposed on a second carbon cloth; an ionic liquid electrolyte. The separator is located between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and the ionic liquid electrolyte is present in and on the separator. The supercapacitor may be implemented in a heart pulse rate monitoring system.

Asymmetric supercapacitor

A supercapacitor including a gel electrolyte and two electrodes having a substrate, date stone activated carbon, a conductive carbon compound different from the date stone activated carbon, and a binding compound. A mixture of the date stone activated carbon, the conductive carbon compound, and the binding compound partially coats a surface of the substrate. The two electrodes are assembled in a symmetrical layered configuration with the surfaces coated with the mixture facing each other. The gel electrolyte is present between the surfaces coated with the mixture to form the supercapacitor. The gel electrolyte is a mixture of HSO, polyvinyl alcohol, and anthraquinone. Particles of the date stone activated carbon have a nanosheet morphology, and the nanosheets are stacked on top of each other to form a hierarchical structure.

A method for making a magnetic-nanoparticle-supported catalyst includes reacting a ferrocenyl phosphine compound with an amino alcohol compound to form a ligand having a phosphine group, an amine group and at least one hydroxyl group; anchoring the ligand to a surface of magnetic nanoparticles via an oxygen atom of the hydroxyl group to form a ligand complex; combining the ligand complex with a metal precursor comprising Rh to bind the metal precursor with the ligand complex and form the magnetic-particle-supported catalyst. The magnetic-particle-supported catalyst is a Rh complex of magnetic-FeO-nanoparticle-supported ferrocenyl phosphine catalyst.

A method for producing a submicron-/nano-jute carbon/epoxy composite anti-corrosion coating is described. The method includes heating a jute stick, grinding the jute stick to form a first powder; pyrolyzing the first powder to form a pyrolyzed carbon; grinding the pyrolyzed carbon to form a second powder; ball milling the second powder under the wet conditions to form a submicron-/nano-jutecarbon; mixing the submicron-/nano-jutecarbon, and an epoxy resin to form a first mixture; mixing a hardener with the first mixture to form a second mixture, and coating the second mixture on a mild steel substrate and curing to form the submicron-/nano-jutecarbon/epoxy composite anti-corrosion coating.

A method of recovering a hydrocarbon from a reservoir is described. The method includes injecting an oil recovery formulation into the reservoir, and collecting the hydrocarbon from the reservoir. The oil recovery formulation includes date leaf particles selected from the group consisting of carboxylic acid functionalized date leaf particles and non-functionalized date leaf particles. The date leaf particles have an average particle size of 30 to 950 nanometers (nm). A method for preparing the carboxylic acid functionalized date leaf particles is also provided.

Method of recovering hydrocarbon from a reservoir using date leaf carbon nanoparticles

A method of making NiO nanoparticles is described, as well as a method of using NiO nanoparticles as an electrocatalyst component to a porous carbon electrode. The carbon electrode may be made of carbonized filter paper. Together, this carbon-supported NiO electrode may be used for water electrolysis. Using a pamoic acid salt in the NiO nanoparticle synthesis leads to smaller and monodisperse nanoparticles, which support higher current densities.
